  7. Anyone use the various cordless kombi tools?
  8. Problem with some grants and ambitious targets that it maybe be repeat of the NI cash for ash scandal but with with trees if not planned and regulated properly. At least OTT fencing is better than planting trees then them getting eaten by sheep as fencing was rubbish as can happened with a planting schemes that don't have a fencing bugdet. Don't undestimate the goverments incompetance.
  9. Isn't it just down to Nm torque if figures stated are honest. Makita does 5 different 1/2 inch models ranging from 1000nm to 190nm max torque Infos: https://www.rgbltd.co.uk/media/content/Brochures/spec-book-2019-compressed.pdf
  10. First signs I notice is dead/bare tips of twigs in middle of crown like in the third pic above. Doesn't look like much but then it progressively gets worse.......
  11. Makita do a whole range u don't have to get the top $ one.
  12. See suff in pic it up here on shooting estates in N Wales Think its a cherry laurel different looking leaves to bay?
  13. Never thought of laurel as a coppice firewood crop.
  14. Ahh yeah forgot that Screwfix is same as B&Q. & B&Q has a mini Erbauer brand website on there page.
  15. Erbauer a screwfix own brand? They don't seem to have proper website even or any spec info about there tool lineup etc? Will the support for the brand & compatible batteries still be around in a few yrs?
  16. I got a makita DHP482 drill battery 5amp and fast charger buying seperate was cheaper than a kit, no box though. Was £130 total online Heres the makita drill hierachy if your interested: What Makita Drill? 2018 Edition - ITS Blog WWW.ITS.CO.UK Metal gearbox sounded good so went for the brushed motor mid range one.
  17. Anyone use augers ? Petrol auger or maybe this? VOSS.farming Ground Hand Auger Ø 7cm, for Installation of Posts, etc. WWW.ELECTRIC-FENCE.CO.UK Soil auger, Ø 7 cm, for setting up posts etc. Used bulb planter before but not good in certain ground stone or roots etc
  18. I have the mid length one of theese its good so far. Its better spec than the 2 battery one and the cheaper single battery ones but iv'e noe tried thoose. DUH601Z Only thing gone wrong so far is I over tightened the screw over the grease port stripped the alu thread in main body Looked at the blowers but there air flow spec & runtime seems alot lower in comparison to petrol so dunno if there any good?
  19. Makita and do one also Also the ghostbusters backpack option? If you already have the batteries for drills etc saves abit.
  20. Imagine if bin men went on strike. Alot more vital job for society than the majority of other jobs. Not saying bin men should get then same a doctors but they are provided a vital service. As an example: Wage differences have skyrocketed CEO to workers. CEO now get above 200 times more pay than bottom rung, back in 1965 it was 20 times. CEO is the extreme example of how the whole pay scales has changed across all jobs within comapanies and public sector organizations. NHS & council management consultants for example.
  21. Looking at getting one.. Seems there 3 brands: henchman, hendon (workware) & hawesgawa. Is there any difference in quality between them? Haesgawa are the more expensive jap ones sold by niwaki. Also come in standard and heavy duty versions in each size. Also platform or standard. Any advantage of 150kg max load over 100kg ladders more durable? Hendon standard and heavy duty are both rated 150kg which doesn't seem to make sense?
  22. Even some millionaires are commies & want to pay more tax: https://patrioticmillionaires.org/
  23. Another problem is many houses that do exist are in the wrong place post industrial towns with few decent jobs but people can't afford to move, conversely areas were better jobs have massive housing shortage/unaffordable housing. Maybe there needs to be council mobile homes so people can afford to relocate were the work is. More travellers! ?
  24. Off course in a pure captalist system the low wage workers would just sleep in the street or illegal slum shacks like in India or many other third world countries without welfare systems. Actually many homeless in UK do work full time Shelter warns of leap in working homeless as families struggle | Society | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Charity blames high rents, freeze in housing benefit and shortage of social housing
