What I thought also, I assume its what they are implying , but who knows....they probably haven't actually planned the policy in proper detail... Festmeter Schüttraummeter or Schichtfestmeter? Bet teh Germans wouldn't tolerate this half arsed ambuiguity ? -
Historically firewood was from coppice from native woodland done on rotational cycles of say 18yrs leaving a few standards for timber. I like the above idea but it might not give the yield of a plantation of some exotic species like euc etc but it would have less chance of failure not being a monoculture, and be good for biodiversity.

Was trying to educate somone about RH etc, whos stove seller told them that there expensive stove only works with wood below 15%, but they wouldn't believe me as the stove seller was an "expert". -
Weather is getting stupid recently basically raining for over 2 weeks with not enough time between to dry ground on the rare "dry" days & near constant over 50mph wind gusts for last few weeks also.

I ordered dolmar spare parts and a chainsaws direct from germany as there wasn't the parts available in the UK or they were more expensive. Brexit may ruin that in future though.

Dredging channel straightening & upland drainage channels all increase the peak flow lvl so can all lead to more flooding ( as well as preventing it locally). Taken to extreme the tradtional flood prevention measures in urban enviro and you end up with rivers as channels like LA storm drains, Altering the upland part of catchment requires probably requires less costly solutions ans less enviro damaging ones to slow water down rather than speed it up. Of course both can be combined on same river.
