  1. In Welsh locally its rwden for swede & meipen for turnip but often rwden for both i think. But its probably different words in other parts of Wales as they speak a different version of the language down south and mid Wales etc than they do in the North.
  2. Should be Captain Moore, not Captian Tom he ain't Bowie i.e Major Tom. Just sounds wrong.
  3. I like eating swedes but don't like turnips, they taste completely different.

But few with female leaders have done badly

    Tree root question

Imposible to say what tree it is unless you have a time machine and root probably has nothing to do with dead tree stump. What other stuff is growing nearby etc as roots go along way
  16. Would be a shame to fell it.
  17. Why is the hybrid one worse?
  18. I just tend to use the middle speed as reckoned it increases battery life over the top speed
  19. I would of gone with the max blade size also but thought cutting might of being weaker with a longer blade to power, but its got a load of power so get the longest one i reckon. Prices have shot up abit since I bought it. I got 2 5ah batteries to use with it. Makita also got a whole load of brand new garden cordless models out: alot of mowers hegde trimmers strimers etc New products WWW.MAKITAUK.COM
  20. They have being talking about ramping up and rolling out testing for the last month.Unsure why its such a big delay in the tests, as the excuses made seems to change everyday. Meanwhile Germans have being mass testing for weeks and alot less deaths. Even the italians have managed to do alot of testing, seems UK is just more inept gernerally that other places.
  21. I have some larch "waste" offcuts from a local sawmill for veg plot edges. (They were burning then to get rid onsite in a big bonfire ) ? Not good for retaining walls though unless you get sleepers made to order. If you live near chesnut coppice area would be ideal material.

  23. The Dexter Elm on the Dexter estate in Malden. This photo was estimated to be taken between 1894 and 1895. These men are climbing the Dexter Elm to find and destroy gypsy moth egg masses. The Dexter Elm survived for about 250 years.
  24. Spraying doesn't seem a sensible longterm solution for maintaining a conservation habitat imo. What was keeping the birch in check in the past historically? (Probably was a combination or grazing burning and coppicing etc) Is the birch regen encrochment from adjacent land area that is now managed different? Local wildlife trust place does controlled burning and some strimming.
  25. The little echos have good power to weight ratios or that rear handle version or the sthil topper CS-2511WES CS-350WES Stihl MS 201 C-M Sthil msa 220 battery saw is 3.6kg without, battery but a battery is 1.8kg so will overall weight i think nearly same as 550xp? I reckon 40cc and over overwise it will be slower though.
