  2. There isn't much in the way of bespoke engineering or parts on any machine, better to identify and find alternatives to OEM consumables before the eleventh hour if you want to avoid being shafted. Bob
  3. Those diamond encrusted discs are really good if teeth are buffed up little and often, too slow if the teeth have gone untouched for a week. Bob

  7. I bought a couple of Winton machines to go behind a small New Holland compact tractor., a stone burier and a flail mower. That little tractor has no problem powering these.
  8. This is what I am on about Chris, the Cebora prof 55 is supposed to be good for up to a 20mm cut. Plate below was 15mm and I reckon that the max. The tradescut at the bottom of the page is in a different league and only cost me £100 s/h

Chris plasma cutters are ok if you have the power supply to run a big compressor and the plasma at the same time, that's a big draw.The cut also tends to walk when you get near the max advertised cut of any particular machine, something advertised as cutting 12mm max will do it but 8-10mm would be more in its comfort zone.You may be better off with a rent free oxy bottle and propane or acetylene, having a hot spanner/gas axe is more use generally than just a plasma cutter.   10. Even if the threads are pulled on the crankcase its worth tapping out the hole to 12mm and trying a stepped stud.

  14. It would be interesting to know how much petrol it uses a day when used in anger, any chance of monitoring it and letting us know? Really curious to know how these new petrol chippers compare to the old diesel ones. Bob
  15. Looking good Stephen, if you haven't already done it its worth adding a filter in the case drain return line in case the motor poops itself ( and they do). Bob

Most 3.5 tonners with an arb body/tool locker combo and three muckers in the front are overloaded on the front axle without any chip in the back.A few years ago a landscape guy got pulled at Leatherhead, all he had was grass cuttings on the back with a flymow thrown on top, he had to put the passengers in a taxi.   18. We are using the fuel cards until prices and deliveries stabilise . Bob

Deliveries have been slow, we need to order at least two weeks in advance and they cant actually quote a rate until the day of delivery.Got phoning around and there was a 40p a litre difference between the highest and lowest price, our current supplier was the dearest so I swapped to another, some of them are definitely taking the pi55.   22. This old girl is still out there earning its keep, nearly 300k on the clock on the original engine. Bob
  23. That`s a serous bit of fatigue, may be worth looking for the reason why before buying/fitting a new one, could be a balance issue. Are the knives sharpened as a matched pair or as singles? Bob
  24. My nipper has recently done his HGV, need to book it well in advance around here, seems to be a bit of a backlog of slots and tests. Bob
