  1. Nothing wrong with helping folk in life and its got a funny way of turning around. Well done Joshua Bob
  2. As above Ben a few meters of each will always come in handy at some point. Also worth getting the proper rubber reinforced gear as opposed to some of the cheap crap that goes rock hard as soon as it gets cold. This gear is OK https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SAE-J30-R6-Unleaded-Reinforced-Rubber-Petrol-Pipe-Nitrile-Diesel-Fuel-Line-Hose/272024452250?hash=item3f55ebbc9a:m:mbKbHnXgih2MO1e3LYVkjww Bob
  3. We run a couple of these seppi`s on 3 tonners, as above you need a cab :). Worth getting a version with boot flails and one that either matches the flow rate of the machine or like the seppi comes with a variable displacement motor than can be adjusted to suit . Not the easiest thing to master because of the flow share with the machine but with patience will out perform half a dozen guys with brush cutters. Bob Edit, for obvious reasons you need to be careful where you point them, a broken flail could do some serious damage or even kill someone.
  4. 6`8" and fills up a doorway Bob
  5. That will give Big J something to stew on Bob
  6. Is that mini forwarder two tons or about two tons BigJ ? A bare bones 3.5 ton chassis cab with a pair of skids in the place of the bed may just about accommodate that little rig, it would be a lot less grief than a trailer for maneuvering around tight lanes. Bob
  7. Knew I had a piccy somewhere
  8. Probably the sort of machine that is front heavy when unladen and would be wrong on a two axle trailer whichever way you load it, I would find out the weight distribution of the machine first and then make a decision. Have borrowed a friends tri axle IW trailer and they really are a nice bit of it, cant say I noticed the extra drag on turning but that said it was on the road and dry, on the loose it may well be a different beast. Bob
  9. Worth checking the alternator is charging, no hydraulics initiated on some models until the revs are up and charge is sensed. Bob
  10. My link was a bum steer Ian, they are a bit cheaper here and a few more bits in there too https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/59pcs-Tubeless-Tyre-Repair-Kit-Emergency-Motorcycle-Van-Car-Puncture-Repair-Case/253452436061?hash=item3b02f1425d:g:I~YAAOSwySlaMPlv
  11. On the subject of TCD how is he ? Bob
  12. How come you get all the cushy Rhody jobs Eddie ? That one looks more like a gardening job, its no wonder your machines are always immaculate. Can we swap clients ? I dont know what sort of site the OP is working on but all the ones we get are where the Rhody is the height of a house with stems the size of tree trunks and entwined in other windblown trees/uprooted stumps on terrain crisscrossed with ditches. We normally mulch/open a path through in several places with the tractor, let the 360 with rake get in there to rake/row/smash down as much as possible, back the tractor mulcher over everything possible and then fit the 360 mulching head on to finish up working along side a cutter with tracked chipper. It works well for us on the sort of work we get, the 360 mulcher would be way to slow on the larger diameter Rhody.
  13. These tyre plug kits are worth having, saved the day on many occasions including this morning There are several kits but the slimmest and least bulky are the cheap sets off ebay, spare strings are also available. Best to keep the spare strings wrapped in clingfilm or they do in time dry out. Slimline mobile kit , about a tenner on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TYRE-PUNCTURE-REPAIR-KIT-OFF-ROAD-TUBELESS-PLUGS-4X4-4WD/352126969738?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Workshop kit Pull out the nail or whatever it is, for big repairs you can stuff up to three strings in the hole Rasp out the hole with gadget supplied in the kit. Fit string in tool and coat with the slime supplied Shove in hole and draw out so both ends are visible ( two bits of string in hole) Job done, just trim off flush with knife in kit.
  14. Should still get through an acre or two a day even if its dense but well worth having a cutter with a tracked chipper working alongside the machine . If possible you are better off fitting a power rake to the 360 and rowing out the Rhody , then back a tractor/mulcher over it. One day on the tractor will mulch everything a 360 can row out in week. The big advantage is tearing out a lot of roots which in turn needs less spraying off later. Bob
  15. Re engined a whacker plate with a loncin, no problems. And built a small capstan winch with a Loncin reduction geared engine, that runs for days on end, again no problems.
  16. We are SMAS reg and have never been asked for anything else, will probably have a chat with @AA Teccie (Paul) and add in AA at some point but not sure why . SMAS is a lot easier to achieve if you employ an HS consultant. Bob
  17. Paul use a builders disc cutter with one of these blades https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PREMIER-PDP-NEW-SLEEPER-TREE-STUMP-CUTTING-TERRASAUR-BLADE-12-300MM-ESSEX/322192401797?epid=1090905519&hash=item4b0429e585:g:PuQAAOSwCcZaIYTw As it dulls off take it out and turn it, it sort of cleans itself. They are the biz on dirty wood and can handle stones/crap Bob
  18. Donk that V5 is a bit of a mess and all the weights are mixed up with kg`s and lbs , if you look the thing is 3500kg unladen so add fuel any sort of load and driver/passengers its over weight before you start, also if you look at the yanks spec those trucks are rated in lbs train weight which is about five ton gtw . That wont leave much for a trailer and load. The dually is a completely different ball game but of course they are well over the 3.5 ton gross. I know its bollocks because my Blazer was a beast of a tow truck. Slightly older version but much the same, have a gander at page 31 https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/topics/2017/2017_F-250_F-350_F-450_SD_Pickups_-_Specs.pdf Bob
  19. The Delica is a great tow wagon/mobile toolbox/bowser/kennel Jonathan , I have caned the arse out of mine for nearly four years and all its had is brake pads and tyres. Its better off road than any of the pickups we have , there is virtually no bodywork overhang front or back to ground out , can drive the thing right up to the machines for fueling up while the lads in the pickups have to park up and walk. Tows well but is not brilliant on fuel, probably low twenties towing and twenty eight ish if you creep about. Great seating position for me ( bad back) , a bit like the transit but with a lot more room , I have ripped all the seats/trim out of the back of mine and use it as a van but some of the flash ones do come with a high level of trim and all the toys. When this one dies I am having another one, best work truck I have ever had . Bob Mine is only the manual bargain basement Delica space gear SWB so not full of goodies like some of the others
  20. But it wont affect the heated leather seats, and cruise control Bob
  21. A few local lads I know take arb arisings and sell logs for beer tokens, one of them manages to get ten to twelve loads a week out this time of year. He buys no wood whatsoever, its all mixed hard/softwood as it comes. Bob
  22. Flow fit do a few engine driven hydraulic pump kits for Iveco`s https://www.flowfitonline.com/vehicle-pto-and-pump-kits/iveco-pto-and-pump-kits/daily-30-jtd-pto-and-pump-kit-12v-108nm-02iv214 Bob
  23. No options for me. One jobs three week road closure /TM expired on Friday night so all that work had to be completed/kit offsite hell or highwater, another two were finished and machines needed to be elsewhere for this coming Monday morning. None of my guys want to stand down for two weeks while this clears up and with the nesting season upon us neither would the customers. Not an ideal situation but safe if you creep along unlike the numpties that were coming past me on these lanes as if it was a dry summers day, saw plenty up cars upside down in ditches. Speed kill's, more so in shit weather Bob
  24. Another track the lads have just finished, as you can see they have scraped it off level, brought in the sides and topped it off with scalps Bob
  25. Its a tilt bed Mathew, tend not to bother with the leccy pump and push the back down with the bucket just enough to get the tracks on. Bob
