You need to find the fitter that did the last belt change and batter him. The bolts dont come loose on their own, its just not been tightened properly in the first place. If that lot has been rattling about on the crank I would imagine the damper, sprocket and crank will now have signs of wear which is less than ideal. If the woodruff keys are still able to stop the sprocket and damper spinning on the crank I would change the belt, degrease the crank and the inside of the damper, smear a light coat of araldite on the crank and inside of damper, bolt it all up tight and leave it overnight. That works and will last the 70,000 miles till the next belt is due ( dont ask me how I know ). That gives you time to find another crank and damper ( there`s one here you can have for nowt ). Bob
  2.:lol: God help you Midge Bob
  3. What sort of trickery is a kin podcast ? Bob
  4. I have the PTO version hanging off the back of one of the mogs and its got a letterbox opening of about 12"x9" so really probably only good for 6"-8" material. Bob
  5. The big winner was the electorate, for once they voted for what they believed to be right for the country and not for themselves.I think most now understand there is no such thing as a free bus ride .Tiz rare. Bob
  6. I have a few friends running wood boilers and the smokey ones seem to be the ones that are over sized for the application. The oversized ones spend extended periods damped down and smouldering between calls for heat. I suppose the trade off is the capacity of the burn box and time spent loading. Just an observation which has no scientific basis Bob
  7. Its early days Kevin, Corbyn and his crew have plenty of time to give the magpie a coat of golden paint and convince the gimme gimme electorate its a goose come vote harvesting time. Bob
  8. I borrowed a friends new tri axle trailer the other day Jon, its so stable compared to my old twin axle. I think if I was buying I would seriously look at these, will get a snap of it tomorrow and see what make it is. Bob
  9. Done the blades on the tw rollers today. I cant find the thread but someone was having grief getting the bolts out so here is how we do it. Take off the hopper , the hydraulic motors bolts , the grease nipples the other side and the bearing support bolts. Normally reveals other gremlins like this wire that was about to chew though the motor seals:thumbdown: Blades have lost their newness and were not pulling in the smaller stuff. These bolts rarely undo so dig out the ends and plugweld up the allen head of the bolt Then plug weld a 12mm nut to the top of the allen bolt 19mm spanner and they are straight out. Jobs a goodun , should only take about half an hour to get all the bolts out, the heat melts the original loctite and helps release the thread from the rust.
  10. Someones just asked where I got the the hand held one from , its this one. It comes with three stones. 12v Volt Chainsaw Saw Chain Sharpener, Grinder With Three Grinding Stones | eBay Bob
  11. Invite them round for a surf and turf , just dont tell them the chippers doing the surfing and they are doing the turfing:sneaky2: Bob
  12. And that is the secret, our lads are way to heavy handed with these and have destroyed dozens of chains. The big green one is a lidi special that a member here spotted on special offer so I grabbed a couple of them, its no different to the Oregon unit other than its half the price. The little 12volt ones on the left are good but you need to keep a stock of the stones as they dont last long. Bob
  13. Good point, but to meet the rental property demands houses still need to be purchased. A buy to let mortgage repayments/interest rates will probably dictate the bottom line. You also have to be mindful that the unearned income attracts quite a high rate of tax along with the capital gains tax when you sell. All this needs to be considered before the renting game is hammered to below the point of being worthwhile. Councils dont like to supply housing anymore because its a burden on their budget, its far more cost effective for them to rent in the private sector. Bob
  14. Thats a lot of weight high up , I would go for standard ride height heavy duty springs and add a heavy duty anti roll bar. Bob
  15. Matt what is the intended use? Bob
  16. I think the easiest option would be to get a telehandler to scoop it up and load it onto a trailer, thats all I do when I load ours on the neck of the trailer. Bob
  17. The wave means nothing unless you have one of those" one life so get one " stickers or whatever they are. Bob
  18. Perzackly that Bob
  19. I would spend the time and get it running. Bob
  20. Superwinch like this, I dont know what these are rated at but they will pull a tractor out of the mud as is or if its seriously buried use a snatch block. Super Winch | eBay Bob
  21. Thats what I did with the massey, it can drag the tractor and mulcher off its belly plates when its up to its gizzards with a snatch block. Bob Put them on all the tractors, cheap and effective
  22. This was one of Bills first batch of 9" Dosko`s that he fitted the Kubota engine power pack too. As you pointed out there is no stress control and the feed rollers are speed adjusted with a flow control knob, anyone thats used one for a while would have no issues with it. Our lot could not get on with it and I got tired of changing belts, its also over the 750kg limit which is why its parked up. I toyed with the idea of fitting a stress control set up on it off a timberwolf, the fitter at green plant reckons all the bits for a retro fit would come to about £500. Maybe one day Bob
  23. Its the younger ones Gray, I will drag them in and have words. Bob
  24. You have met her then eggs Bob
  25. All fixed Our one eyed painter has done well. Chippers have had a bit of a hammering this week Something made an exit through the side of the chute and the little tow along has been reversed into something , also looks like its had a jackknife
