  1. Once our fire is lit it doesn't make smoke and if there is any it goes up the chimney with the draw from the warm air. I rattle the ash into the bottom pan then lift it out and put the box I made over it so it doesn't get in the house. I use a little rechargeable vacuum for the hearth and tip it all on the garden and dig it in.
  2. What's the difference between a buffalo and a bison ? You cant wash your face in a buffalo 🙄
  3. Snowing here and settling, wet stuff though 😝
  4. Common sense says it, one rule for them and another for us.
  5. A loose tie wrap round the handle works
  6. Are the saws the same apart from the thickness of the con rod little end ? You could try a couple of 1mm washers either side of the little end bearing but it might be fiddly getting them in there.
  7. I had one do that and it had the cleanest carb anywhere till I tried another coil. Very perplexing.
  8. You want to scrap the old clunker that got stuck, I'd offer to take it off your hands but you're too far away 😷
  9. I don't take my saws to the tip, it's probably nervous 😱
  10. I had to strip and clean the carb on a Chinese top handle that had chain oil in the fuel tank. It was like glue in the metering side and it smoked like a goodun for a while after it started but it was fine after it settled down.
  11. I bought some of the Northern Arb 3/16" files and they seem fine for the amount of use I give them.
  12. Zinc passivating can be gold, commonly used to extend shelf life.
  13. Happy Christmas everybody 🌲
  14. I have a BSA .177 Cadet that must be 70 years old. It was my dad's and I used to shoot with it when I was a lad, 68 now. I made a new leather piston washer for it a while back and it's still a good gun.
  15. Air Arms S410 .22 with scope, moderator and a gun slip, spot on accurate from rested shot. R10 look nice rifles.
  16. I think like that as well, it's a ride out and a distraction. I went to Sleaford and picked up an air rifle a couple of weeks back and it was the highlight of my year. 🤕 Sad innit ? I shot ratman's cousin yesterday which also brightened my year 😃
  17. If I can't take it with me I'm not going 🤗
  18. All that makes me wonder is "are they expecting a lot of tall people dying ?" I would expect the answer to be more because you can get 12' ceiling joists out of it with the building boom that's going on round here. Anyway if you divide 4.53m by 2 you get 2.265m not 7 feet Stop mixing measurements.
  19. I've got the hole dug in the garden, all she has to do is fill it in and keep claiming the pension 😳
  20. I'm using Opera and it's still not singing 🥴
  21. Mine's on 18" now but it runs 20" no problem but my 044 or MS460 has the 20" bar now
  22. I've just been studying and round here there is a service station selling BP ultimate unleaded which is allegedly ethanol free except in the south west of England. Found this as well Esso super unleaded petrol (Synergy Supreme+ Unleaded 97 and Synergy Supreme+ 99 ) is ethanol free (except in Devon, Cornwall, the Teesside area, Scotland and NW England).
  23. This chainsaw is useless it hardly cuts anything. Pass it here let me have a go. Bloody hell what's that noise it makes ? That's the engine 😲
  24. You need an axe for chopping up firewood 👍

    stihl 661

    You'll probably get a MS460 for that on eBay, I'd buy a 660 for £450 even though I don't need one🤣 I have 460
