  1. depends on the ground... have to start em usually with a hammer once they grip then twist away... battery nut runner would do... but if you hit stones you will have issues.. whats your application?
  2. Have a friend who makes them, will produce them from anything..... even the osb ply that you can see the chunks in.....looks weird but finished well with many layers of finish..... have an elm one stashed away.... will dig it out for photos...was mace circa 1900.... interesting fact the hole was designed by scribing the outline of the brim of the carpenters bowler.... love the fact that they are always warm..... and way healthier than plastic...... like chopping boards....
  3. Depends on soil type.... grand for clay and such like the more stone the harder it is to use them....... adjacent to the weld will give,re weld them and run fingers of weld on down to help spread the shock..... always driven em with light sledge.......... very good in right setting...if you can get them in the ground they will hold....
  4. the best thing to have thrown in the first aid box is hydrogen peroxide....6%.... as soon as you get pricked pour it on the site BEFORE YOU PULL THE THORN OUT.... then again after.... it will sting a little but it is the best.... btw it kills MRSA so anything else would be a doddle, Magneisum sulphate paste is brilliant for drawing thorns splinters etc.... plop it on cover to keep moist give it 8 hours, replace with fresh application, should pull any infection forgone matter to the surface...having looked after 35 hunters for decades it is the best poultice.... and it is hard to beat the peroxide as a topical disenfectant, and way cheaper than a visit to the doctors, not to mention avoiding antibiotics so when you really need themtheywill work more effectively in my opinion....
