Guitar tops those book matched bits should be kept together , table top or some doors for something way to stunning to cut up if you ask me , I would be up for a pair , also be up for making you something I made a big dining table about a year ago out of some wind blown walnut there should be some pics on hear somewhere if interested in having a look P M if you are up for doing something Cheers Mark

  4. Hi Ian you could get some coloured wood stain they do it in bright colours that will show the grain nicely why not try one , I think a big one say 3/4 ft tall would be cool

    Whats so wrong with chainsaw milling , 12x2 or 16x2 would be of alot more use to a wider range of people but I make tables so I would say that

    Hi the only thing with the turbo saw is how wide a cut can you do I know you can cut from both sides to get a wider board but if you have an alaskan it seems a shame not to get the full width even if you just do the widest buts that way , then you are not just selling wood turning blanks as I think you would have to sell alot of them to make any good money but I love my alaskan so I may be biased good luck with which ever way you choose some pics would be good Cheers Mark

  15. Hi I am not surewhat the prob could be as walnut is a very stable timber was it a very hot day and thebut very green is the only thing I can think , paint the ends with p v a glue as soon as milled will help , sorry cant be any bigger help , good luck with the rest Cheers Mark

Hi I milled some holly with my alaskan and just stickerd it in my workshop and it was fine , maybe I was lucky , but holly is such a nice colour mine was creamy/grey , but big enough to mill is quite rare but I have managed to find just one but worth milling in the last year just need to find time to mill it good luck with yours some pics would be cool Cheers Mark

  19. Hi yes the wood fair is worth a look lots of cool stuff , and if you do go pop in and say hi I will be chainsaw carving there for the weekend there are 6/7 of us and an auction of what we make on the sunday cheers Mark
