  1. Looking to order 300m of galvanised mesh fencing... 31mm hole size, 1050mm height, with a 1.2mm (18 gauge) thickness of wire. It's to keep the pesky wabbits out. Where can I get some at a fair price? Cheers, steve
  2. How thick do I need my 6"x2" aluminium guide beam to be for the Alaskan mill?.... don't want it to be bending: The choice of aluminium thickness is: 10 swg (3.18mm) like this 6 in x 2 in x 10 swg - Aluminium Box Section : AluminiumWarehouse or 6.35mm like this 6 in x 2 in x 1/4 in - Aluminium Box Section : AluminiumWarehouse I'd rather order the thinner 3.18mm stuff because it's cheaper, but would it resist bending or twisting over a 10ft length? Cheers, steve
  3. You forgot the gaffa tape mate
  4. That looks serious!
  5. This place does sections in 5m lengths, various shapes & sizes.... 6 in x 2 in x 1/4 in - Aluminium Box Section : AluminiumWarehouse
  6. Blimey heck! glad you are all okay. I wonder what the truck driver was up to... texting maybe, or drunk?
  7. Today a neighbouring farm let their cows in their field, they escaped through their stock fence, jumped our brook, churned up the woodland floor, trampled through our entire horticulture area of raised beds and they've eaten god knows what. Not been a good day All that hard work we've done in the past year, demolished in a couple hours Anyone else had this problem? Cheers, Steve
  8. Great question to ask & it's nice to think about this. Cheers, Steve "Because it doesn't feel like work, and it's not just for me."
  9. Monsanto; yeurgh Taxman; yeurgh Starbucks (etc); yeurgh Educating (?) children to become good little consumers; yeurgh The Arbtalk Revolution; yay!
  10. I picked up an easy to carry 2 tonne winch from Lidl for £10. Perfect for small to medium leaning trees - bargain, I think.
  11. Wish I was OCD! Can't find the Black n Decker Workmate for all the stuff it's under
  12. Excellent, must be hard but from what you've said sounds like she's doing really well.... and this makes me smile. Wishing her a speedy recovery in time for a lovely warm 2014 Summer.
  13. That's more like it! Can't beat DIY chunky benches, chunkier the better
  14. Wot no photos of benches
  15. Uh oh, I don't like the sound of that .... been hoping to fell some oak in the summer and beam it up to build our barn, am I too late? Cheers, Steve
  16. Good thread. I'm just using a Black n Decker workmate at the moment and it's a bit small to be classed as a bench! Are you thinking roundwood legs, and what wood are you using? Cheers, Steve
  17. Sounds like they would do well to advertise on Arbtalk. Cheers, Steve
  18. Was about to say, "that looks amazing!" and now it's gone, and now I feel But, Thanks for sharing. Would love to have a tree like that in our meadow.
  19. We've had the fire running every day since the OMFG! gas bill. Cheers, Steve
  20. Haha, me too! Roundup on offer in case you get thirsty: Roundup Ready To Use Weed Killer Spray 3 Litres - Groceries - Tesco Groceries
  21. Who tested it on the mice?.... and what happened to the other 50% that survived? Did they have other affects, like, like, like, like repeating things in an un un un unusual way? I think Monsanto is the work of the devil - as is Tesco. I suppose I do believe in some things. We shop at Lidl and sometimes Aldi - they have an aisle of dreams, for men & butch ladies. They have cheap gadgets, and cuddly things like slippers & neoprene pants. It's just how I imagine heaven to be!.... Oh no! I bet they sell Roundup!! Must find a safer shop!
  22. Yeah, agree. Arbtalk is such a great learning resource, I've learnt & still am learning loads. I'd also like to make charcoal on a budget. Like that video... sounds like a rocket stove. Cheers, Steve
  23. Who knows? Can't trust the manufacturers, can't trust the environmentalists.
  24. Yum! Caaaake and eat it, great idea! Like that
