  1. That's democracy for you. You are entitled to your opinion (which I respect) and I'm entitled to disagree with you (which I do). Have a nice day
  2. I'm so, so sorry to be reading this. Wish the clock could be wound back, again. Very good advice with.... "make the most of your time with the ones you love while you can." x
  3. Yep, sent in my remarks on this earlier. Makes me feel really angry that this is even being discussed/ considered. Puts my mind to riot. aaaaargh!! Wish they'd leave ordinary good people alone to get on with their good everyday lives, like, ummm, errr, shopping at Tesco, and ummm, hmmm poisoning weeds with Roundup, and buying one chicken getting two free, etc, etc.... (and in here lies the problem). For things to really change we all need to stop buying into the corporate crap.
  4. Will be great to hear your thoughts on the strimmer. How many batteries and much did your battery pack cost, if you don't mind my asking? cheers, Steve
  5. looks amazing. cheers for sharing, steve
  6. As I mentioned above "I think the rate they offer is designed to go towards costs rather than cover the whole amount. Well, I guess???" I think the topping up is left for us to sort out.... but we're not exactly minted right now, just happily working our asses off.
  7. hmmm, Would you like some haylage if you worked a full day?.... got lots of wrapped haylage bales.
  8. Glastir is the Welsh version of Forestry Commission grants for looking after/ managing land/woodland. It's mostly for environmental/ nature purposes, eg putting up bat boxes, bird boxes, protecting woodland from cows, etc and lots of other things. I think the rate they offer is designed to go towards costs rather than cover the whole amount. Well, I guess??? It's EU money, and it's complicated! cheers, Steve
  9. i wonder, is he or she on Arbtalk?!
  10. Great handle grip precision control technique as well
  11. haha! Love that, made me giggle.
  12. yay!! I wasnt expecting that! ....I'll try to find out how long a day lasts at Glastir. cheers, steve
  13. thanks, learnt something there so don't mind going slightly off thread at all. cheers, steve
  14. Okay, so Glastir Advanced have offered to pay for some of our trees to have surgery (I think it's about 10 medium sized oaks that need a haircut/ and to be made safe). Glastir will pay £97 for one day (they only offered for a single day). Anyone interested in that paltry sum? (Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire).... if not then we'll have to consider rejecting their offer and leave the trees as they are, which would be a shame. cheers, Steve
  15. I imagine it could be but they tend to stick some plasticky crap veneer on top, and who would want the job of peeling that off? Cheers, Steve
  16. I forgot my age and had to use a calculator. Maths has not got any better with age! 42 and feel great most days.... now working outdoors away from too much computer. It is invigorating in so many ways. Love it
  17. All that lovely wood turned into chipboard? *sigh*
  18. By 4 stroke do you mean 4 mix? (I'm not sure what 4 mix is?) cheers, steve
  19. Yes very true. But from what I've researched it would work/ cut fine (if you had enough batteries).... I figured it's not the technology that's the problem; it's the multiple battery cost. I'm in no rush and now looking into Kune Kune pigs to control the acres of meadow (they eat plenty of grass & don't usually uproot very much). Cheers, steve
  20. I didn't know Stihl made a 4 stroke strimmer - thought it was just Dolmar & Honda. Swap your 4 stroke Stihl for my invisible battery strimmer?
  21. Oh dear, not good. Is it from the cab upwards, salvageable? Cheers,Steve
  22. Looks ace, be good to see more photos of that! ....and I like your log store/ store shed.
  23. What on earth is that thing stood next to your bicycle?
  24. Yes indeed. I've noticed a few of those types during my stay here on Planet a Earth. Not kept in touch with them
  25. Hmmmm, the willing concept. We'd be willing to pay the top price.... but can we afford to pay top price? I doubt it very much! How's about: "A job is only worth what the customer can afford to pay". And thus makes me wonder if posh people and corporate clients get quoted more than those with little income??....
