  1. Looks like a great project V.I. There is something quiet satisfying seeing all your timber stacked in neat piles. Do you process all the wood yourself or do you just sell it in lengths?
  2. Warmed up now so its raining, had a good 3 hours of snow and all the mountains were covered.
  3. This whole thread has had me in stitches, V.I. you sound like a top bloke, if I was closer I would definitely be up for giving you a hand. You should add some photos of the work you have been doing in the woodland, sounds like enjoyable work
  4. What make of crane is that and where did you get it from? Thinking about getting one for a trailer, how do you find it, any good?
  5. Found this on ebay, either they have been naughty and stolen your photo, or they have found some of your bags somewhere. Firewood logs | eBay
  6. That doesn't sound like fun with flu mate I should be out there getting more wood in the polytunnel but I think that is going to have to wait for another day
  7. Glad Im not the only one with man flu Jon, hope you get better soon bud. Outside and in a polytunnel, wet stuff stays outside for the wind to dry in the winter and all the dry stuff is kept in the polytunnel to sell.
  8. Some connie bashing. Any wood was turned to firewood and all brash was to be burnt onsite.
  9. Likes of Euroforest are asking for £42 a tonne at the minute for softwood delivered. Ive dropped you a PM.
  10. Dont even worry about them. They are going to be hard work from start to finish, keep the wood for customers you know are going to pay on time with no hassle. And if anyone else asks for a tenner off say yes and then ask them for a bottle of champagne worth £20
  11. WATSON W-8684 BEDSIDE WEATHER STATION | eBay Shows inside and outside temperatures using a wireless thermometer for the outside readings. Ive had mine for years now and its been great. If your after something more high tech, I know the Gadget show were reviewing weather stations so might be good to have a look at there website. 1.7 degrees this after noon and -3 degrees last night, pretty chilly .
  12. Busy in October bit quieter in November, hopefully a busy December. How are your log sales going Jon?
  13. Had issues ever since they split off from Yahoo, starting to get slightly peeved off with them.
  14. Never smoked, and never wanted too. I know nicotine is addictive, but I think the whole getting up to go outside, or rolling up lighting up is also addictive. Bit like people are now addicted to there phones. Its something to do when your bored. That why I think the Ecigs will work better than patches and gum.
  15. I always fill up at ASDA, so probably not the best supplier in the world, but still Ive been running saws, mowers, strimmers and hedgecutters off it and I've never had a problem and neither has anybody I've worked with. Of course you will here of a lot more bad fuel cases as that's kind of part of your job. Im not knocking Aspen, I think for the job it does its great for the environment, your health, peoples health around you and for your machines and if you toke apart my machines and compared them to other machines that have run off Aspen then the Aspen run machines would be in a much better state. My feelings are though you can still run your machines off pump fuel and have no problems with it so long as your using fresh fuel and service your machines regularly
  16. I don't see the problem with any fuel bought at the pump whether it has been bought at a supermarket or at a garage. I have never heard of any cars breaking down due to bad fuel and I have only heard of 1 saw breaking down due to bad fuel but that was due to the user leaving fuel in the tank for an age (which doesnt happen with Aspen). Like anything, if used responsibly, I doubt you will ever have a problem. And if your in doubt, fork out for Aspen and crack on.
  17. Well done to that man, I am currently making the same kind of thing to tie onto every bag we sell. As someone has said it not our job to educate but if it brings back customers it must be a plus.
  18. I dont think it will count if your covered with saw dust though
  19. Yer had a bit of money to invest, but could also be handy if ever I needed to borrow. You'll have to let us know how you get on with it
  20. Ah that's interesting to hear. When I looked at it, it looked to good to be true (and the amount you needed to invest were too high for me) so I never looked any further. I am guessing they are doing well for themselves now as I am seeing them advertise on TV. How much better are the business rates compared to the banks?
  21. Bark looks a lot like a cherry tree to me.
  22. I thought on all chains there were 2 teeth on the same side that you can use as markers for sharpening, that's what I go off anyway.
