    No, we are selling up completely. I have accepted a job that moves me to Bristol so I can no longer carry on the business. So anyone if anyone is looking for a hand processing in and around Bristol, let me know.

    Hope you've all had a good Christmas and a merry New Year! We are selling up a lot of our firewood processing equipment over the next couple of months and I am just seeing if there is any interest in the wire crate storage we have. We have approximately 150 crates shown the the below picture. They are made of 2 rings of stock fencing stacked on top of each other. All crates vary in condition from old, used fencing to new fencing. Other equipment we will be selling: Posch 280 processor Riko A11 log splitter Cone Splitter (will find out want make it is) Igland 4501 Hydraulic thumb for pallet forks

    Looking to restore this wood burner but can’t tell who the manufacture is. Any ideas?

    Sell it a bit cheaper to anyone that uses wood on a boiler. Bigger logs, less work, and you get your yard space back.

    Could you do it the other way around? Put the dried logs in the barn loose around mid summer and store all the seasoning wood outside.

    Had plenty of snow over the last 2 days. These are some of the drifts we had.

    Out of all we sell, just under 50% of the wood we sell is softwood. Our 50/50 mixed bag is the most popular.

    Needing more dry softwood either processed or roundwood if there is any about Let me know.

    We have been using a 11 ton Riko A11 for the last couple of years and there is only a few pieces of wood it wont split.

    Hows the log sales going everyone? I have been fully booked up for the last month, averaging 10 bags a week, and it doesn't seem to be letting up into December either. Loving the cool and dry weather

    As far as I am aware, not a lot of SC is grown locally to us, so this took me a bit by surprise. We have a couple more lorries to come in to water it down now. I may mill up some of it for a log store I need to build, and some sheds that are going up on the yard considering its good rot resistant timber.

    Well from the mixed reviews I have read, its looks like I am going to have to dilute the SC with other wood. I have had a few blocks sat next to the fire for 3 hours now and they still weigh a far bit. They don't want to dry out at all.

    You may have a good point. The reason I thought it was oak was because there was lots of tannin visible when splitting the wood, but I have now learnt there's tannin in most woods but their levels vary across species. You learn something new everyday. Ive brought back some wood to burn on the fire, if there is a fireworks display then I will take that it is sweet chestnut.

    I have this wood on the firewood pile and was wondering what it is. I've had a look around and to me it seems to be Red Oak. Can anyone shed some light as to what it is? The bark in the picture has come off a 40cm diameter trunk.

    Last of the 2 loads of hardwood delivered on the yard tonight. Lots of oversized included which isnt too good, but on the bright side, both lorries where full before they reached 25 tonne. Next on the chop list.

    I've looked at lots of the Youtube videos of smaller diggers and some look great while some seem slow on nice straight grained wood. I have spotted this on ebay though, recommended for a 1.5t-10t machine.
