    gps

I'd recommend Arc its a lot more logical for the user, we're just switching over to it. I've heard good things about the Arcpad as well. I've got a hand held unit based on Digiterra which was about £900 which is accurate but digiterra is rubbish. I have to transfer everything over to MapInfo when i get back to the office. The hand held gps units won't be great in the woods as the canopy cover stops the signal but easy to use if all you need is a grid ref. If its saying its 3metres accurate that mean you've got within a 6m radius of where you need to be though.
  2. I've done an aw and it wasn't much more than the usual course, other than a bit more about who to inform and when etc. Not seen it done separately but it must be offered somewhere
  3. I've got a £25 one from Wickes which does me fine. Maybe if i tried an expensive one i'd know the difference but i'm happy with the cheap one.
  4. I use yr.no Generally though i try them all until i find the forecast i want!
  5. I'm just about to start building my website. Am i right in thinking that i need to buy a domain name and then start with wordpress? I quite like the idea of having more control over it rather than an off the shelf package.
  6. Looks like you've nicked that dining chair. Hope your missis doesn't find out. Green man looks ace though.
  7. The kids would have baked beans stuffed down them gaps in 10 seconds flat.

    green slime?

Its space jelly! there was an article in the huddersfield examiner about it a few years back but i can only find this on the internet Homework: Space Jelly
  10. Don't write a letter, speak to them face to ace as its harder to say no and if they don't want it done then you could reach some kind of compromise there and then. A letter makes it very formal which might not be necessary.
  11. I like the look of stacked wood lke the one below. When i get around to decorating the room i'll do a built in one.

    aspen

Neither seem to bother me but i was speaking to someone who said he got headaches from aspen.
  13. I've got on and don't have the room seal kit. Works brilliantly, very happy with it even without it.
  14. I've got over 200 builders bags going for free if anyone wants any. They aren't vented but hopefully they'll be useful to someone. They are in Marsden, West Yorkshire. They have been used once so aren't folded up or anything.
  15. I've got a Burley Holywell last winter. Heated my 3 bed semi all evening and just had heating on for an hour in the morning. It was mild though so i'll see how i do this winter. It was recommended to me on here and it is spot on.
  16. I think i need to change mine too. I picked it because my surname begins in H and got very confused when logged on and got 'welcome to the forum aitch'. I thought this is nice, all these people welcoming me to the site.
  17. No but there is "me" if you rearrange the letters!
  18. That snows not hit Delph yet. Must be on its way.
  19. All of nature has a cycle. Species populations expand until there is not enough to eat then crash. We are unique though that we can actually see it happening to us and can't seem to do anything about it!
  20. I do a bit of work with ex-addicts and if i'm honest i was a little apprehensive at the beginning, but they have been the most enthusiastic, hard working bunch and a pleasure to work with. I look forward to sessions with them and its great to see the support they give each other. Hats off to you!
  21. i reckon one of the reasons is everyone wants to know how much they can get away with charging. It's been said plenty of times on similar threads. Charge what you can get away with. Sometimes you'll get it right, sometimes you won't.
  22. What we could do with is some sort of internet forum for people to discuss what they should charge to avoid undercutting.
  23. you're lucky to get a visit from them at all!! However i would say it is worth reporting it because how will they be able deploy any extra resources to stop future crime if they don't know what and where crime is taking place. I do feel for you though mate.
