  1. Try National Trust Hardcastle Crags at Hebden Bridge.
  2. There called level 2 awards now if that helps your search.
  3. The problem with zero hours contract is that you can't guarantee a wage each month. Its fine if your not reliant on the money but if you've got a family to feed its useless. I know some people who can't say no if they are called in so they have no opportunity to secure other work to make up for it.
  4. We've got a N reg 130 2.5tdi that has recently lost power, i'm struggling to get out of 2nd going up some hills without a load on. It always been a bit of a dog but it's really bad recently. Last year the timing was adjusted which improved it slightly, i was told the other thing it could be was the turbo but i can hear that whistling away. Any suggestions what may be causing it?
  5. I did my CS30/31 a few years back and they made sure I could sharpen correctly on the training and the assessment.
  6. Stiliton with Christmas cake, delicious!
  7. Good luck anyway, hats off for doing your bit.
  8. might be worth asking a few departments in the council to see if you can come under their insurance. I've found in the past it's a case of finding the right people to ask. They've got no money at the moment so if the countryside department can produce some community engagement results for nowt it may be a winner.
  9. You should be covered under the voluntary groups insurance if you volunteer for them.
  10. Anyone know the difference between the aluminium an stainless steel one? Is it just more robust?
  11. We're putting some in the toilet. As in what a bear does in the woods.
  12. I think you've got it right. We can't fit that size tank anywhere though so we're just going to insulate everywhere we can and get an efficient boiler.
  13. It is a defra approved one, I'm in a smokeless zone but it sounds like 6" is pretty standard. I've had someone who's come recommended round and he's done a smoke test and the chimney is sound but advised to get one for peace of mind and efficiency like you have said.
  14. I think the Hollywell is a 6" flue. I've had someone round to quote fitting (not this specific stove) and he said that the chimney was small and I may struggle to get a flue in.
  15. I think lack of free wood is the clincher for me, just a burner for the room and the doors open. I've been looking at the Burley Hollywell which 've heard good things about. We're thinking of getting solar PV with an immersion heater running from it as well as the standard system boiler. I think at the current rates we'll get our money back in 8 years. Thanks for your advice.
  16. I'm in the market for a wood burning stove and am considering having a back boiler as well to give hot water and heat for 7 radiators. I have been talked out of it previously by a couple of people, one saying my room (5.6x3.6m) is too small for one and another saying that once the hot water is up to temperature his stove struggles because of the change in air flow(?) and not to bother unless I had a huge tank (only room for a standard). I've taken the gas fire out and part of the fire place and found some disconnected pipes for an old back boiler so I've been considering it again. What are your thoughts on them? Worth investing in one? I'll have to buy most of my wood so it's not free heat.

    A New Shed

I've got one with a stove in it. Brilliant but got the pipsqueak stove that has a tiny door on it so you can't fit much more the kindling in, spend most of the time feeding it. Looks good though! Going to try it in the depths of winter this year to see how it does.
  18. They are currently doing the trials for eco plugs to get approval for aquatic use. Not currently allowed within 1metre of watercourse but shouldn't be too long. They seem a lot safer than painting it on with a approved solution.
  19. Coniston Bluebird. Although currently drinking some homebrewed coopers sparkling ale which is quite nice.
  20. We normally get a load of fires in early spring before the grass has had chance to green up. In purple moor grass it has years of dead grass underneath the new growth that builds the fuel load. Of course you need a dry spell before hand though.
  21. Stunning pictures. Not sure about the moose though.
  22. I'm not from Yorkshire so i can't be 100% accurate on translation but i think it says dig a hole, put the post in, then all the dirt you've dug out back in and it won't go anywhere! Doesn't always work when i've tried it though. Bang some postmix mix in!
  23. A word of advice from a something i have written in Yorkshire called ANGIN’ A GEATE... "thee dussn’t want nar concrete nar girt stuns! Long as you dun’t leave nar mars’I, ‘e‘ll bide where ‘e be!"
  24. I've just put in board walk and i've got some chicken wire on but it never lasts so i'm looking for some good alternatives. Does it have a brand name or can you let me know your supplier?
