  1. I'm going to try to make it if i can, I'm actually at a stag do near Kendal the same weekend but hoping to sneak off for a climb at some point. It would be good to meet you all.
  2. It's called marchantia. Found this on internet that says to mix a bit of glysophate with detergent to get through the waxy surface. Liverwort - identification and eradication
  3. You can order it online now I think.
  4. You could draw up a checklist to demonstrate what you have shown them and cross reference it to what is covered on the Lantra course to show you have covered everything needed. Have a line at the bottom for you to say you are satisfied the employee has demonstrated competence and another for the employee to state he is confident with the training and happy to use the machine. This will formalize the process and demonstrate to HSE that you have a process of ensuring the operator is suitably trained and competent. Or you could save yourself the hassle and send them on a course!
  5. We've got a Loglogic Softrak which is unstoppable, carry 2 ton easily and will go absolutely anywhere you want it to. Softrak
  6. I agree with emperor moth. No experience of fairies though.

    Ticks

I know quite a few people who've got lunes disease from ticks. I used to think it was rare for it to happen as we used to get them all the time as kids but it's a lot more cooking than you think. I always check for the bulls eye now as it's critical to get there early. The longer you leAve it the worse the outcome will be.
  8. I've got a skoda Octavia. Not fancy at all but it's such a fantastic car. Never missed a beat, good on fuel, drives well. I'll definitely get another one for the family car. Might treat myself to the vrs though!

    Tree Pruning

Surely to retain the "natural" shape of the tree you would not thin or prune at all. You'd just leave it to do it's own thing.
  10. Anyone aware of this? http://farmingadviceservice.org.uk/events/assets/Uploads/Technical-articles/FAS-articleTree-cutting-rulesfinal-issued.pdf?utm_source=Ricardo-AEA+Ltd&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=5816260_FAS%2fNAO-RB%2fED57348005%2fJun2015&dm_i=DA4,3GNUS,1WAMDV,CE6V4,1 No cutting trees as well as hedges if your a Basic Payment Scheme claimant.
  11. More news on lumbersexuals Man with flannel shirt self-identifies as lumberjack
  12. Glorious morning here in saddleworth but the forecast is for gales this afternoon.
  13. I've read a lot about them having poor crash test results.
  14. Still have ours lit. We've put laminate floor down and it's f'in freezing!
  15. I keep bees, doesn't matter how many there are there is only 1 queen. Move her and the rest will follow. Might be a bit more tricky up a tree though!
  16. Can anyone tell me if there are any other training providers than TKF and Myerscough? I'm based in Saddleworth. And dates and availability don't suit.
  17. 2.2, does all i need it to do. Hard to say on mpg as i'm not the only user and we don't do long runs. We've had an l200 before this which was fine but this is a much nicer drive.
  18. We've had our new Ranger for a few months now but only had a chance to have a proper go off road till today. I'm very impressed with it's performance, we've only got cross over tyres on but it still handled itself well through wet boggy sections and steep slopes. Big thumbs up from me.
  19. What better place to learn than your own land though! If it isn't perfect then he's got the time to fox it, If he's struggling he can call on his friend next door to help. Sounds like the perfect set up to learn to use a machine to me.
  20. I don't think auction is that bad an idea, there are loads of fleet vehicle going which you can guarantee have been serviced and appropriately repaired as its part of the package. I've been looking at one near me.
  21. I've watched both, really good. I drew the line at the canal boat trip though!
