  1. Neighbor cut down a lot smaller hedge and left the stumps in and took at least 4 or 5 years to fully rot enough to dig out easily with a spade. Get them ground out, enrich the soil and wait a few months and plant something nice.
  2. T540 560 365 with 24" and full skip chain
  3. Resin tables?
  4. Not sure what 'mess' an exacator would leave that a grinder wouldn't. This was a fairly well established conifer with around 6inch plus trunks. Mud behind it was there anyway and was graded off a bit nicer. Grass hardly touched. All removed with ripper tooth.

  6. I used to work somewhere which spent loads on Yell, really wasnt worth it. Fully agree with what Steve says. Plus do some leaflet drops in some nice areas. Get a professional to design the leaflets too, that wont cost a fortune but makes you look so much better than something cobbled together in word.
  7. Watching some of the yank fallers on YT and some of them use what looks like 30 inch max in some huge trees, it's all about knowing how to "double cut" (or whatever they call it) the gob.
  8. This is my older style tipper with the same digger as @Stihl123 (I brought it), can see how much higher it sits.
  9. Those bags are generally wet and ridiculously expensive. Do as Stubby says and you won't regret it. With these blinking Lockdowns we keep getting we are sure using a lot more logs than last year.
  10. I have a tipper and a 1.5 ton digger and I really hate towing it on there. I am getting a plant trailer soon hopefully!
  11. Surely the regen on a chipper will be fine as when you're running it it's basically always running flat out, not like cars which can be idling a fair bit in traffic etc?
  12. Mine has had a split primer bulb for ages. It starts ok but for some reason now it only runs flat out. not sure if the issue is linked or not ?
  13. Snapseed on ya phone for pics
  14. If you have a way of cleaning them out they are really handy storage trays. Cut the top out and off ya go. @aspenarb I think had a pretty cool pic of his setup of this manner

  16. Always on a log about 400mm high, wider the better, as you split a load it piles up around and makes them go less far when they fall off. Have done the tyre trick too, just need to pick another up at some point
  17. Chuck a full skip chain on, that'll help massively
  18. Any pics?
  19. Sure someone will be able to help although of course hornbeam isnt as commonly milled up.
  20. How many trees need doing? By the time you've brought enough kit to do it according to regulations and safely you'd probably be better off getting a professional climber in. Climbing a tree and climbing and working safely in a tree are very different. Sounds like a fun project anyway!
  21. https://www.chainsawbars.co.uk/custom-and-bulk-chain/
  22. No to all, I would look at doing something useful tbh.
  23. Hands down the simplest website to find the right chain / bar for your saws if you're a bit clueless like me. Might be helpful for Rob to tell him exactly what's complicated!
  24. Don't get the grenade they are awful. Get the basic stihl splitting maul, mines done equivalent of a couple of artics of wood over the last 10 years and still going strong.
