1. Is there anyone around Doncaster area who could give us a price for 4 x oak posts for a garden lean to. Thanks in advance
2. Lack of water / poor soil imo. Also fiddling with the roots probably didn't help after they'd begun establishing
3. Duh just seen on his profile. Doesn't show on posts on mobile
4. Where in the country are you mate?
5. Top looks like Hazel bottom silver birch to me
6. DM me pal, got one which will be a good price as needs a couple of bits doing on it.
7. Pictures would be great.
8. Deciduous trees are easier to shape nicely and keep 'under control' and will take a while to get to 5m if planted quite young. Plenty of options, acers have lovely leaves some grow slower than others. We have some whitebeam around the perimeter of our offices which were planted several years ago and still aren't very large. I find them rather nice with a nice shape.
9. Its all to do with the hormones. Remove the apical dominance and trees sprout like mad and look unnatural.
10. Yes and will probably end up looking pants. Grow it as high as you dare then fell and replant with something of a smaller form and that responds to reductions better.
11. 30 secs will do nothing for a plant that size have you ever held your garden hose into a pot for 30 secs doesn't fill up much. And yes you need to remove the hessian as it is holding the rootball too tightly and probably constricting the tiny roots that supply most of the water and nutrients to the tree. Leylandii is possibly the worst tree anyone could plant in a garden, do yourself a favour and plant something nicer.
12. More likely crud brickwork
13. I went to ebay and they did nothing. Eventually got the full amount back from UPS but took months and months and a lot of chasing. I was fuming as was a virtually new 395.
14. Try getting an ambulance then. Round here you'll have to wait 5mins just to speak to a call handler then if you happen to say the right words you'll get one within half an hour or if not then it'll be a good while. Being a 1st responder you get to see the true delays there are, especially at hospital which is generally where crews are sat.
15. Yes it will keep growing. Remove it along with any other Leylandi in your possession and replant with something better.
16. I'd like to see someone with the sense of mind to apply a CAT after suffering a bleed serious enough to need one. They are hard to apply single handedly properly in training let alone with blood spurting all over the show and you rapidly losing consciousness. I also definitely wouldn't be hanging around in the tree to try and get something out of a bag on my harness which has to be cinched on tight so it doesn't get stuck on every branch.
17. Think the above might be your solution.
18. Please do not plant bamboo, its one of the most invasive plants. Keep the laurels well fed, weeded and watered and theyll be up to that height in no time. I planted some 2ft plants about 4 years ago which are in places now about 10ft high.
19. Get a woodburner fan for the top. Makes a big difference
20. Sure there was loads last year but not noticed many this year. Thought there was such things as mast years, does that apply to Oak too? Edit - just read the post from Mark above, so guess mast years include Oak.
21. Screw Gate carabiner X15 WWW.EBAY.CO.UK
Screw Gate carabiner. Metal

There is 15 in total
any good?
22. piano moving dolly ?
23. It'll be just fine, as others have said you can cut laurel back to ground level and it'll regrow. Your hedge was probably left too long without properly trimming it.
24. I have a 2018 wildtrack and it's been brilliant. Ordered another one but with canopy this time as the roller shutter is terrible. May as well not have it the gear gets so wet. Couple of mates have the latest 2.2l biturbo and are getting almost 10% better fuel economy compared to my 3l and that's with all terrains too whereas I have standard tyres. I tow most weeks, cattle trailer, timber, digger and it tows very well. I actually prefer driving the ranger to the discovery 4. Yes doesn't have the same poke but rides nicer imo.
25. https://www.armorgard.co.uk/prod/strimmersafe-rack How about something like this?
