Please contact me via text during working hours which are 8.30 to 5pm. Any other time please feel free to call. Plenty of room to tip and turn in the driveway
  2. We're happy to take arbchip and tipper loads of mixed cord and rings, but ideally looking for ££ sawlog sized conifer and happy to pay commercial sawlog money ££ for good material that is delivered by prior discussion: - Thuja, Leylandii, Macrocarpa, Lawsons, Redwood. - Lengths: 2.1m, 2.8m, 3.8m - Diameter: 250mm small end and upwards - Reasonably straight - Knotty logs no prob, but not looking for multi stemmed spraggly monsters. - Minimal muck, metal, digger damage. Please get in touch beforehand, we have a diary to arrange just like everyone else 🙂
  3. Simple setup. 2 bays, one for clean chip, one for logs. No mixed loads or brash please, 24hr CCTV in use. Please be aware this is a horsey farm. There are a few horses (& owners) who get spooked easily, so please be courteous.
  4. First time poster and new to the forum so thanks in advance for any help. Recently purchased a new home which had a lovely conifer in it but have noticed that it has started browning over the past few weeks, am rather concerned, any tips? It used to be lovely and green in the previous owners photos. There were some cobwebs on it a few months ago but we hosed them off. Had some tree people in but they all just said nothing to worry about.
  5. Hi all! Could you help me identify the following tree please. Has great conical shape and dozens of pine cones higher up. Was told by a tree surgeon it would grow to double it's current height. About 5m now and I'd like it to remain at current height. Seen videos such as this: https://youtu.be/DUxkjvVOWQ8 Question I have is whether pruning the leader will halt height?? And then annually removing suckers? Or will trimming leader cause it to lose shape? Many thanks

Reasonable size drive with easy access will happily take any free logs in any shape or form.
  7. Hi there. looking for ideas for an evergreen replacement for an old conifer at the front of my house. Some privacy would be good but not essential. Aesthetics important and not looking to spend a fortune. Within 2-3 metres of the house in terms of roots. thanks Simon
  8. I have a bit of a 'marmite' situation going on with this tree, can't make up my mind if I love it or hate it! Does anyone else have a view? I think I like the freshness and habit of the young tree but feel the mature tree is rather lollopy. At the Barcham Trees nursery we have some 40-50cm tall trees in 20 litre pots available from September 2019. Sometimes referred to as the Chile Pine, Araucaria araucana is also a native of Argentina. This ancient slow growing evergreen tree is well known for its distinctive long slender branches that are densely covered with overlapping spiked leaves. Amazingly enough, it was once a native of Britain. The fossilized wood from this tree was highly coveted by Queen Victoria. Otherwise known as Jet, it was used in the making of mourning jewellery. Hardy in the UK, they are often planted far too close to houses so have to be removed before they get to maturity. This unusual conifer prefers a moist loamy soil and has great apical dominance drawing the tree up strongly vertical so it is very suited to crown lifting. Handle with care - the foliage/leaves are very sharp! The cones are globular up to 20cm in length and take up to three years to mature. Product spec:- https://lnkd.in/gbPKsa9 #trees
