  1. Just seen this from a while back. Duncan Slater does some really interesting posts to this effect on LinkedIn. Recommend following him https://www.linkedin.com/in/duncan-slater-phd-0a135634
  2. Have had similar on a batch we planted. Most have done fine but ones like this croaked
  3. Brought this amongst others off gumtree and it's now flowered. No idea what it is
  4. He's just released a book that guy and its a fascinating read
  5. open it up and have a look. only a few bolts to undo. isnt particularly scary inside
  6. Should also add the amount of frequent callers is horrendous. If you get to spend time in a call / control centre you'll see the impact this has on staff. In our region there is over 100 some of which call up to 60 times per day in the hopes they'll get a truck despatched and hurl abuse at the crew or try and get a lift to hospital to meet their mates who are doing the same thing. In one area they have WhatsApp groups to coordinate.
  7. With 1st hand experience of some of the behind the scenes at an ambulance Trust its so disorganised and nonsensical on many levels. You've also got a split of crew who do anything to try and have a long wait at hospital so they don't have to go to any other calls and others who hate it. One big issue is we get sent to many many calls which don't need an ambulance, possibly a GP but things like 111 get freaked out and send one at the drop of a hat.
  8. Google Maps WWW.GOOGLE.CO.UK ★★★★★ · Lac
  9. Definitely wouldn't want that next to my house. Oak trunk can remain solid for a while but when in decline is likely to shed branches.
  10. Holmfield Hum: Yorkshire villagers say they're 'tortured' by noise WWW.BBC.CO.UK A constant hum is driving some Holmfield residents to despair, but the source remains a mystery.
  11. How longs a bit of string. Depends on how much you use it
  12. Most people without access to a big assortment of species seem to think Oak / other hardwoods are the only wood they should burn, a mix of softwood (to light the fire get the flue hot) and hard to keep it going longer with steady heat.
  13. May not stop altogether as still slurry from during milking but much much less.
  14. Smart Slurry Aeration System | Slurry Management | Dairypower WWW.DAIRYPOWER.COM The Smart Slurry Aeration System is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way of... This is run regularly so you don't have a crust to get rid of.
  15. Looks like a slurry store in that map image, could be an agitator which are often run off peak for better electric pricing. But that doesn't explain lack of noise in summer unless there is just increased other noise so less noticeable? Or no slurry needing agitation in summer as cows out?
  16. I actually saw a few live trees when I went down it on Friday. Endless rows of tree protection just empty. Huge waste of money.
  17. I've had a pretty good experience with Vodafone. Decent price, 4G backup free, had issues on the line and they kept at Openreach until it was sorted. We have such naff broadband here whoever you go with but fibre is being installed around us at the moment so hope we get more than the 17mbps down 1mpbs up soon! I always found their support stuff pretty good, believe a lot of them are in Egypt and have impeccable American English.
  18. some savage looking root girdling happening there. possibly sketchy planting from a pot originally. Not much you can do with them now. Soil is very dry and no mulch, water for about half hour 2 / 3 times a night with hose and mulch well.
  19. @shavey is your man, not sure if he can still obtain them but he sorted me out.
  20. Good point! Not mega fussy, 150mm Square x 2400mm long
