1. you say your navara is nothing but a pain. is the D40 or the D22. mt D22 is brill can not fault it. whats the faults. have a word with Dave at Billcar engineering they will sort it so its trouble free motering. if it was me would keep the navara. LR can be problomatic. check the V5 docs see were owners lived if near sea check chassie with a tooth brush rot out at the back end mine did. not cheap to run as i say i would get navara fixed and keep it or PX for a izuzu
2. i would use a mulching blade if you have a sthil like a flymo blade. will chomp these down. if as it looks is in need of some tlc dig some holes just on the drip line the size of childrens buckets round and deep and put a scoop of slow release ferilizer i have been using i believe its called max d but will check when i do a horse chestnut in a bit. give the holes a good soaking this should give it a boost. the one i am doing looks as if it is responding to it.
3. swan plant dachet nr heathrow have plenty of kit i got a good neuson skip loader from them now i have will not part with it is so useful. paid£2500 for mine and has not missed a beat. now have a system going neighbour has a 1.5 digger i borrow he borrows dumper. works well. the neuson what i like is it forward reverse is on the side os sterring wheel and has a standard throttle peddal some have a joy stick you push to go either way trouble is your going along and ant to stop and forget its on the joystick plus higher.
4. i though it may have been a gall and you confirmed it seen them on oaks etc.
5. +1 go for it but as for a truck i think a disco will not be the right thing see if you can get a good pick up and put a chip box on that or a transit tipper. the first is it has to be hand balled off so is hard work
6. have you had a look at the new izuzu they do a single cab no frill wash out the cab with a bucket. when i looked was about £16k for the base model. but ideal for a work truck. i had a suburu with plastic seats and floors and was so easy to keep clean. shame they stopped doing it. as cloth seats get mucky. yes they do get sticky when hot but can put a cover over them and that can go in wash.
7. and majority of his timber is sourced in uk
8. +1 and very good prices he did have stock in last time i went up.
9. so very sorry to hear this tragic news. and glad little one is on the mend from all the hedgesparrows
10. i have just used over 200 cleft stakes for a river restoration and we and most river jobs use chestnut because it will not rot as quick saw some old stakes in river been there 10 years and still ok. what they do do in water is turn dark brown. with a reddish outer edge. plus natural so no toxins in wood to harm the wildlfe unlike most stakes sold which are pressure treated and rot quicker.
11.
hi contact dorset coppice group one of the members who lives close by should be able to help out. i could get you some but a bit of a dog leg to come into hampshire then into dorset. email the secetery and there send out a mail to members and they will then contact you normaly works. cheers chris hazel is the best for bug pots. cedar bugs do not like it much as it has resin in.

12. look at the toro,s very good mowers they do one which is 26inch cut. can mulch blow or bag wheeled if i had the work for one that small would consider one.
13. well i am a member of the hampshire craftsman coppice group and we still have members working full time. making hay rakes bessom brooms clothes pegs resurgent tent pegs as metal or plastic ones are banned from festivals and period drama need the real thing. so take the article with a pinch of salt just need people to buy more british wattle hurdles not imported crap. those who make spars and faggots are busy the latter due to recent floods need new blood but were not dead just a endangered species. that needs protecting from becoming extinct
14. not up high as off ground but 700mtrs above sea level does that count as do not climb. only into bed:thumbup:
15. looks like the D40 when i can it will be a izuzu. but then if i could would get a decent old lLR for work. and have a van for summer as no need for 4x4 then. for what it cost to run a 4x4 i could save loads having a vito or the likein the summer and the 4x4 for hedgelaying in winter
16. we had some photos done by a so called professional company. went bust owing us photos cost 2k for them the receivers got 5k for there services i got nowt as you say these receivers are worse than those who owe the money
17. need the tree to act as a bank support. so silt will build up behind and repair bank. saves on loads of faggots being used.
18. buy yourself a austrian scythe and if you can get a few people look up british scythe asociation and get one of the members to do a days course. you learn how to use one and are good and get it cut at same time. one mastered you can cut large areas with one in a short time. and good for cutting shorter stuff
19. hi i am restoring a river and part of the job is to lower a 30ft by 10inch willow down to ground to build up banks. done this before with other breeds but not a willow. now will put in a long pleach at back of trunk whats the best way to lower it without it snapping off need to keep the weight then lower slowly so it does not snap off. then should grow but from side of trunk thinking pully type system attached to a different tree. i know willow has a tendency to crack hence some advice on this. thank you
20. +3 jason or Richard will sort it it out have a good spares warehouse. or normaly next day on stock.
21. yes like to sometimes be the boy racer and spin it in a circle fast trouble is get dizzy but grandkids enjoy it:thumbup:
22. Honey brothers nr guildford should be able to sort you out with what you need.
23. he came never bothered to see you and left. as other posts get a land agent or planning consultant. and be ready. with the ammo if he decides to fire at you. can go two ways he,s looked happy or he will go back and start the enforcement going. ring him first and ask him what the outcome of his visit. then go forward, if he is not bothered saved a packet on getting anyone in on your side
24. had a blue tongue skink well never did much at all but live under its wood and come out at night did look at getting a water dragon fancied having a large averium with running water and look fantastic. but on back burner. grandchildren have there rabbits and ginnie pig.
25. if you want a good sprayer cp are not bad but examiner at sparsholt raved the bertmonds as you can regulate the psi on back of sprayer. so it is constant all the time and if looked after do not dribble. i have gone CDA for general spraying cheaper than normal spraying clean no mixing, reverse to put chemical back in container and 5ltrs eqivilant to 10 knapsack full for £50. downside gun is not cheap over £200 for one but a long term investment. if doing a fair bit. and it works all i have sprayed is dead and not come back. also not subject as such to wind as droplets not fine mist so can spray if it is a bit windy. not go back to a normal sprayer for general work messy heavy need full ppe. CDA boots, gloves and visor jobs a goodin.
