  1. given up using cheques. just use bacs. as for glasses always loosing them hence only get reading glasses. and as for reading texts have to zoom sometimes to read it then. and as for how to use the phone it rings i ke pictures but as for downloading apps or should that be apes. as my phone monkys around when i try and do anythink teccy. :biggrin:give it to son in law to sort out. same with caps always doing a runner only to turn up when i do not need them or the only one i find is may aigle with ear muffs not much cop on a warm day. still i am the junior when it comes to coppicing majority are in there 70,s and built like a ox and can out work me.
  2. the best bit is he had reflective clothes on hence we saw him in the dark. but had no head protection or eyes. in the pitch black. what if he had hit something and it flew back and hit him in the face or body. what would he have done then. plus there are cables running around island should be underground but know what utilitie companys are like for burying cables. total nutter. no urgency to strim in dark. if had got hurt the HSE and insurance company would of had a field day plus his manager for allowing it.
  3. sale of goods act 1979 not fit for job it had a 30 day warrenty on it if they sold it and it was faulty from start then they fix it not charge. curt letter either send someone to fix it refund me the full amount paid and they collect at there cost. get hold of consumers advice what was trading standard. they may have a stiff word in there ear to do something if they will not budge go online small claims if under 5k and take them to court. if what you say and can back this up with a independent report not have a leg to stand on. if you do go down that route itemise all costs not lump it as one cost you will then get all that you are out of pocket for. it does work if you have the evidence. and as for a 30 day warrenty even if it was over you can still chase them. depends how much you have used it since geting it if not hardly at all due to fault still stands have to fix or replace or refund
  4. been given samples of most of the stuff square hex oblong. all i use now is oregen star line yellow stuff 3mm have a bump head rarly does it stick last a long time with one fill. normally i can get 2 fills of petrol to one of string. i am cutting up againt posts grave stones works well. will stick with it as it works for me. and i leave mine out to keep wet. works ok also tried these fangled heads. and gave up the honda head is so simple to load. i can reload in 30 seconds and back cutting
  5.

  6. been to two sites today to cut grass and there is this orange colour on grass like rust comes off on hand and mower is covered in it. any idears what it is. i asume its some type of fungus or rust.will it harm grass
  7. depends what wood and how big brash. but could be used for bank restoration eg faggots. all the rage at moment. due to floods.
  8. is it the normal six blade or the 10 or 12 blade green mower. i suspect its the first. as other posts wrong time of year. to sell and unless its a very good lawn the rotary has taken its place. to think a mower of that quality may be only worth £500.find a storage for it for winter and ebay in spring.
  9. now i think i have seen everything. up at main junction of M3 with A34. there was a highways guy with a cow horn strimming the roundabout in the pitch black. no site lights no head lamp just the headlights from the cars. on his own has to break every rule in book.
  10. you can pick up good second hand ifor indespension.james. and the build quality is good. the ones shown are not braked bet time will come and you wished you got one with brakes on so you can take more chip or rubbish. not knocking them. but when it comes to sell the top 3 will sell better.
  11. its aprox 15 to 20 years old so do it with a yorkshire or axe.
  12. hi comp is on the 19th of October need some entrys like to see some Midland cutters entering. so lets have your entry forms good prizes and trophys. if there is the interest can lay on camping with maybe a beer tent saturday night.
  13. i got mine from forest and arb has a wide leg step end with a adjustable back leg also the feet hold the ground if its soft or hard i hate ladders but i go to the top of that one so stable 10 rung not cheap £140 but worth it
  14. 27th september melplash hedgelaying championships. thats dorset style. 19th october meadstead nr alton Hampshire hedgelaying championships SOE and midland class. if you look close at a flailed hedge thats not been laid and a laid hedge there be gaps in bottom of hedge in the unlaid hedge so not stock.wind proof. good to see that there may be some money coming for doing hedges. bout time. good for the econemy.
  15. this is it i do not think the DVLA have though out it properly and have just rushed this new system in. good point how can you tax it in your name if its still in the old owners name unless thats now done online. if not then a lot of cars etc may not get sold as who wants a car stuck off road waiting for the v5 to be changed
  16. as a earlier post need to get hold of local EA and let them know. will want if poss grid reference where the trees are. but its the reparian owners job to clear them at his cost. if the Ea think these trees will cause flooding and looking at photos doing a good job holding back a lot of rubbish then they can ask the reparian owner to remove them. if they do not they will do it and charge them for the work. i doubt if the EA know of these trees. not many feet on patrol now.
  17. not with these if they do start to go in which is rare just let go never had a thorn in hand since using
  18. only way you will get rid of it is stem inject it goes 7 mtrs just inject main stem so it takes it down you will never get rid of it trying to dig it out just snaps and you have more next year
  19. got grandson a pair of oregen trousers for his 8 birthday. WAIT no not so he can use a chainsaw but so he can help coppice and hedgelaying so thorns do not go in also he is the youngest Coppicer in the UK and hampshire was given his sweat shirt at the last coppice meeting start them young he loves helping his granddad . but he is supervised very carefully will be coming to the hedgelaying comps this winter.
  20. i was just posting it so it was made aware to a large audience. hate to see anyone get stopped or flashed and get £100 fine due to not knowing of this new system.
  21. if its like any box hedge i have tried to remove there a sod you need to dig all arounf the root system but still keep a lot of the root in place. there be tangled in with each other so will need parting to be able to move. not say do not do it but its a job. good pair of secetuers a mattock to dig around root systems. could use a small 360 to dig around to make it easier once individual then simple can move them. it just looks like its a lot of hard graft when you can pick up new hedging cheaply from a good hedging supplier. and just put them in jobs done.
  22. a jobs worth with nothing better to do needs to make themselfs important. if ladder is out as other posts fit a rope system up and spike it up to put meat up. have a comp see who can scale the pole the fastest with a tiger underneath:thumbup: save the zoo having to feed the tigers a new gladiatorial game.
  23. is it the hedge you showed you want to move. good luck. getting each individial apart. needs to be done in the winter. i will stand corrected on box as it keeps its leaves all year round. and you will need to dig to expose all the roots system so its a ball to then be able to move. the amount of work it would take i would start from new and plant a new hedge.
  24. i see tax runs out on truck end of next month so that will be by then the new way no disc. interesting. i think i will keep proof of getting it just in case. system says i have not paid for one. bound to be some discrepancy. and the onus will be on the owner to prove you have paid for tax
  25. thats the good bit they brought it in but forgot to publicise it to much so the poor motorist driving down the road will get pulled over for not having a tax disc and given a £100 spot fine for not doing it electronic when he or she bought the vehicle. and as for part month. the dvla give you a part month back what the country made of money. i had not though of that bit thats a good scam tax the other motorist and keep the part month the old motorist paid for nice one DVLA worked that one out in your favour talk about rip this country off big time for there mess. good news this money is going to tarmac J9 to J14 of the M3 because it makes to much noise so going to use silent tarmac:confused1:
