  1. Uship .com just say what it is size post code to collect to delivery and people bid for the job. hada load of binders to be delivered and had a quote of £38 could not do it for that cost me more in fuel
  2. have a echo 342es i think and its a good saw. takes a bit to get it running but i think its this saw not the norm. but when going its a cracking saw i think S&H will see there market share fall as more move to echo, as well built chainsaws.
  3. well its getting near now the 19th october classes midland south of england. open novice, team event. sponsored by Forest and Arb. if interested please PM with your email and will send a entry form may also may be able to sort out some camping if coming a distance. have a standpipe nearby. and if enough interest may put on a beer tent Saturday night closing date 2nd october.
  4. plus if you use tolls if it is comercial you pay comercial tolls not car tolls. made me mad i see a taxi with 7 seats eg vito pay car toll i had a vito panel van paid commercial rates hence we went the car derived route for some areas due to charges.
  5. if your looking new and leasing go and look at the roomster they have audi engines under bonnet so very good and be surprised how little a month they are for what you get. and have a good resale value as people keep them so second hand ones like rocking horse dung. worth the look
  6. I stand corrected but any van that has no windows only in back is commercial and as such has to be driven at commercial speeds it is a car if it has windows all round and has seats in back. the latter on some models the seats fold down out of way. as for model. have to say i used my skoda roomster as a van as back seats come out but is classed as car. and it has 135k on clock it has never let me down when i was doing big miles 50k a year. fuel it musr run on air. i could return 60plus to the gallon with it and i cruised at 70 plus on most motroways and it was not struggling just under the 3000rpm, what the new ones do must be higher had a 1.4 90bhp engine. its the ideal one van during week car at weekends. seats area doddle to take out minute and all out same replacing them and space in back i got 5 bales of hay in back. had a lawnmower strimmer blower dump bag full up. they just do not do the van version in the uk. but only need the back half of windows if needed blacked out. if it is a van driven kaddy liked them bit small and no side door berlingo have to say was a good van. but never got to give it the big miles so do not know what it would have been like after a lot of miles. the blue tooth in them was good sat nav yes bit of a joke. connect good vans but not as good on fuel as first two and all three will not get near the skoda. kaddy returned may get high 40,s berlingo same. connect low 40,s but then its engine size. and bhp. if bhp is small have to thrash them to get anywhere and so drink fuel if it was me i would look at the skoda. not be disapointed. and they are not bad off road been on many a grass field and coped
  7. very nice work. must be pleased with it.
  8. creamfields still going did do a year in hampshire. then went north noisy old festival
  9. if you have a ex mod place nearby then can get some good tools for a lot less than some of the new stuff plus its good kit. if it was ex RAF then there tools are good. maybe 40 years plus old but tools then were made not just made in the thousands without any quality control. son in law got a set from liddle and there ok do not use them much but do the job.
  10. thats the place. darren the man or ian very good mowers. there only draw back is they do not do a roller mower then it be the bees knees. but for cutting they make a nice job. i do a cricket outfield with my ride on and can get that short and looks nice when done. get no complaints
  11. i have a 576 very good saw but having used a 372 rather use that, not so heavy and just as much grunt.
  12. +1 my point can they be used on the ground. i do not want a bulky pair of boots i want a lightweight waterproof pair of boots with chainsaw protection. i still await my PM. from stein. for the price and lack of reply may go and buy something else
  13. what a good idear. got a shop selling stuff similar just opened up. find a stump give it a clean glass top that be £600 please.
  14. that's why i am getting a spinney head when working there now i know its not the fumes from the horses but ????? as for working with digger will do a bit let it clear and do a bit more. should be able to do it in half a day.
  15. if its anything like my ride on then it will be good just picked up a older smaller version from the dump and that cuts well. but saw price. look in the Usa for one be half the price. or for back up try DJ Scott wheely down nr warnford in hampshire does some good deals on Toro mowers
  16. will open all the doors. but as other posts i think its going to be all the horse dung thats dried so will wear a respirator to stop any of that going in lungs. as for using a scraper its so hard packed would bounce over. its been trodden in so much its pushed to sides with channels in middle need to get it from sides and level it out. as for the horse folk i will be doing it on there closed day so only the staff in then. once i get it working will then use the polaris with a set of chains on back to keep it level. thanks for input much apreciated
  17. well the family have been growing veg big time this year but so gutted for them . fruits done ok but in there own netting compound so ok runner beans hardly any crop broad beans black fly killed them cabbage in a house with netting butterflys got in nothing left. Georgette doing good and water melons not doing bad few onions but not big a few spuds but not a good year. will wait for whats left to be picked and spray with roundup to kill everthing. start fresh for next year.
  18. they have just secured the benches in a cemetery i cut and put in concrete slabs 18inchs wide lenght of bench front to back about 6inches deep and bolted bench to that these are by trees. does not have done much to trees they look ok no dead apeared. i doubt if you are going to disturb that much of the root system. no expert but if its a lean post mix should go off and hardly leach much into soil but stand corrected.
  19. i had 5 acre of a hilltop land when i took it on it was full of rag took me a season to get rid of it all i then the following season cut it for hay for my own use. but what i know now and the owner being a pain i gave it up and sold all the gear i got to make hay. we have the butterfly trust nearby who took on the downlands. they broadcasted wildflower seeds. at start just left it and the grass took over and no flowers. now white parks graze it in sections in the winter so take it down hard plus are leaving there fertilizer to help nourish the ground. belted galloways are a good native breed with a small footprint ideal for wild flower meadows. or the original native sheep hampshires, one to name. if you plough starting from scratch. forget it if you have the start of it then spread some native wildflowers seeds in spring after you have had livestock on it over winter. be suprised give it 4 or 5 years and will have one cracking meadow. no fertilizers needed the grass is kept down. if you want to get a contractor to cut it for hay when the weather is right end of may early june for the sugars to be in the grass to make sweet hay. this will sell at a premium. and once word gets out you will be sold out before its made each year.
  20. will still not name them but i watched two students using a chipper. had shorts on and a helmet with defenders on no proper ppe and this was a open day. the chipper was jamming and would not reverse so they were trying to pull it out with it still running. i spoke to one of the lecturers re the state of it. its only just been serviced. say no more if that was serviced hate to think what the rest of the kit is like. they thought running up a pole in the fastest time and ringing a bell was the thing to show. this college from what i hear have gone down hill big time in most courses apart from one which is making them a lot of money. they had a hedgelaying course one day being taught by someone who does not even lay hedges majority of the time is on there arb side but gave him the job to show how to lay a hedge and charge a £100 for being taught nowt i hear merris wood nr guildford are very good from those who i have spoken to and say there courses are very good
  21. hi if thats out of a boat did you have to change top from marine to land or is it air cooled.
  22. if you want to keep it in check speak to your wildlife trust people see who they use to graze there land. beltys white parks native sheep. stick them on in winter will graze it down leave untill about now and stick them back on. may get paid for allowing them to graze your land. will not need many 3 or 4 cows at most if you want to cut for hay needs to be clean no rag at all or will not sell should get a contractor with small kit do it for aprox £1.50 to £2 per bale. cheaper than getting kit yourself. good hay will sell for £6 per bale i could get about 200 off 5 acres so nice little earner. if you have a tractor needs to be 70hp plus go to a farm sale. mower may pick up from £500. hay bob same money. baler NH,wlger, class latter 55 very good baler. looking at £1500 for a good one. but big but with balers is knowing how the knotter works if they play up can be a pain. its a art to doing hay making hence get someone who does it ask in local pub if anyone knows someone who does small contract haymaking. they take the hassel out of doing it and may buy the hay off you so no work just get paid for it
  23. i been asked to level out a indoor riding school its has openings in the side,s as such but is not fully open. whats the best way to use it without being fumed out by the carbon monoxide from the exhaust. did think of putting a hose on exhaust and running out of shed but its a pain if moving as will have to try and keep chucking it to one side all the time. did look at getting a air helmet but expensive for one job. any idears please
  24. translated its 3 cars in 1 mp3 so not a lot of use as thats not the song. do not know the singer not one i heard
  25. look on axminster site doing some good deals on dremmels got the top of range old model for £95 with everything you need. all i did buy extra was a set of router bits to fit it. i like them but i find them a fiddle to change things over. maybe i need to go to a axminster dremmel day just to see what you can do with a dremmel.
