  1. Flash git, the rest of us just have to struggle with one helicopter Jon.
  2. Battery hens probably have a more meaningful existence than the people who phone you up Jon. Pity them lol. "Can I stop you mate, i'm way to busy thanks". and then hang up, nips it in the bud without being offensive. If you don't then you end up in a conversation from hell IMO.
  3. oregon waipoua boots and trousers have lasted me well and pretty comfy.
  4. PM sent mate got the same saw.
  5. Ripeur 2's Ripeur 2 Leather puncture resistant glove :: Safety Hut : World class personal protective equipment for industry Theres threads on here somewhere with plenty of happy customers. My pair are still going strong, very comfortable now.
  6. Cheers Jon, i'm still using the sun dial. Never been to IKEA.
  7. Many happy returns Jon.
  8. Yes Jon good idea, I think the big charities should go elsewhere regarding shows. Local charities should get priority IMO. As for forums, well I think Mr Bullman and the team should be allowed to setup where they want for free, but im biased on that subject. Jon I think you should get your own stand as well or get someone following you around with a big "Buy this man a pint" sign.
  9. Are you accidentally touching the switch when holding the handles as I have done this a few times, the switch is in an easy position to to this. perhaps the slightly higher vibrations at full revs might be rocking the switch.
  10. First year i've seen gold finches and there are a few pairs Jon. The swallows have returned and have already built about a dozen nests. Got great tits in the nesting box once again. Woodpeckers, buzzards, woodcock and pheasants in the woodland area so its already looking to be a bumper year, just need a better camera to get some decent pics. Hoping to put some boxes up this year to get even more. Plenty of cheaps and chirps but not great at IDing them from there song at the moment. There has been a decrease in the number of crows and starlings in my neck of the woods.
  11. As above this is normal, a good point to start sharpening your chain from as well
  12. A yob might steal a mewp and fall out of it landing on your pint of milk spilling it.
  13. You've got pilots with emotional problems to factor in as well these days.

    VE Day

We had a beacon lit by one of our war veteran residents and local cadets along with a street party with all that goes with that. Very emotional for all concerned when the last post was played, as it had just started raining so everyone young and old was assembled indoors huddled together. Must have been a hundred or so guests. I was stuck out in the rain keeping the pyrotechnics dry waiting for my cue. We don't know how lucky we are IMO.
  15. Do you have to use a leaf blower to blow off paths etc for a tidy job? 8 hours of strimming is OK, A week of strimming is where I draw the line. Hit another magic tree last week, smelt of new car for 5 minutes
  16. On the last IPAF course I did the trainer showed us alot of examples from around the world which he had compiled. This was a little extra information not on the official part of the course but we were asked before he showed us the photos. Many of the fatalities were from operators being catapulted from the basket. As MF pointed out connecting at the rear is not going to be fun on the way down. And if the harness has just been been thrown on to make you feel a bit more comfy then you might also find your balls popping like zits with the impact. Not my idea of a good day at the office. Once you go outside the manufacturers instructions and any training recommendations you have received then the can of worms is opened. I'll stick with that mantra. Im all for innovation and thinking out the box mate but when it comes to being deed i'll do as i'm instructed, trained etc. If the unlucky did happen I would prefer for them to say "poor bastard, wasn't his fault" rather than "******* clown, his own fault" and I know my family would agree.
  17. Everyone knows there aint no party like an S Club party Jon:lol:
  18. Do you work for the SAS? I think if I came out with these techniques during my training I wouldn't have got to the multiple choice questions. It's quite a simple concept. Secure yourself to basket with an adjustable lanyard to stop you falling out the basket, do the job, lower and come out of the basket. The basket is there to stop you from putting yourself in danger of a fall, going out of the basket increases the risk of you hurting yourself.
  19. I would say going down out of the basket is the worst outcome.
  20. Everything done on MS Word. for Q4 Roles in one column and Importance in the other. for q7 same idea definitions in one and effect on the soil in the other. Any labelled diagrams are just drawn and scanned in with the labels added.
  21. The second modules not that much better
  22. If your not working you should have to do 40 hours a week community service and clean this place up a bit.
