  1. You mean this dodgy geezer. The gypo that is, not Dave.
  2. We'll wait and see. See tomorrow 👍
  3. Pretty much. Stihl have taken their heated handle models off the order list. As for delivery dates there hit and miss. Husqvarna being the worst. We don't know if we're getting it till we get the invoice a day prior. Still waiting for stuff ordered last year. I know in some cases that wiring etc was made in Ukraine which hasn't helped matters
  4. He's probably louder. Talks for fun, and says what he thinks so pretty similar
  5. So I'll be heading down early Friday morning, and heading straight for Honey bro's stand as they've put us up for the night. I'll be with a loud northerner in his mid 50's with a bald head who can't stop talking. So should be easy to spot

    STHIL MSA 220 T

Had a quick go with one. Seems like it's got a good bit of torque. Probably slightly heavier than a 201t. It felt more comfortable in hand than the T540iXP, but that may be because I'm more use to Stihl top handles than Husqvarna.
  7. There's an adapter for the Protos that Honey Brothers sell. It's the same one that let's you fit Husqvarna/Sordin defenders I believe
  8. Indeed. It was sold within 5 minutes of coming in. Unfortunately don't know when we'll get the others. Never mind the XPG.
  9. I've met King Charles twice. First time I was 10 (maybe younger) and he took the time to take five minutes to talk in a busy line of people wanting to do the same. Second time was at a scout camp. I think I was 18. He was visiting as it was Norfolk. Anyway my point is, there was no phones, blocking views etc. I was just stood there saying hello. He has the time for anyone it seems.
  10. I've found the Friday and Saturday to be better over the years. The traders could be less flexible on price on the Thursday compared to the Saturday. Although I now work at a dealership, I see how little profit these folk make on anything they sell. So just remember to be kind with the dealers when trying to get the lowest prices. I'm not aiming this at you or anyone if to be honest. I just want to put it out there 👍
  11. I told you this morning, it won't
  12. Keep the 038 going. We get plenty coming through the shop and generally need a dam sight less work than the more modern stuff. They usually come in for a quick check over and sharpen, or a running issue. The latter tends to be stale fuel that's been sat for 6 months. All in all great saws. Save some money and look after it is my advice 👍
  13. Very true. It's a great achievement when you've done though. I better watch my punctuation and grammar next time. I don't want the police on my back 👍
  14. Washing machine in a pillow case always worked for me
  15. Well sounds like there's a good few going. Maybe we all could meet up at one of the many watering holes for a bevvy and a chat
  16. So then who's going? I'm there on Friday and Saturday morning. I usually met with 5shires and silky and the like. It would be good to meet up with some other folk. I'm bringing one of the mechanics from work who's been in the job for 30 years +, so you might well be able to ask him about some mechanical issues with saws etc. Anyway it will be good to meet up with new members and and some of the older fraternity that give some advice. Looking forward to meeting some new faces. Andrew
  17. I'm reapplying for my licence at the moment due to epilepsy. It's probably been 10 years since I've driven on the road. All I see as a passenger is crap drivers, and I'll be honest I'm not looking forward to getting back on the road. Driving definitely seems to of gone downhill.
  18. I've just tried the Panther carbon and the Ally one's. Both very comfy with top velcro and the standard straps on the bottom. The carbon had the medium gaff and the ally had the short. I didn't find that much difference between them apart from weight, and if I'm honest it doesn't seem much when you're wearing them
  19. I know for a fact there's been numerous increases since last September, hopefully his dealer has been nice and done it at last years price as he's already paid. We get told not to sell the engine unit only (other dealers might have a different manufacturers agreement) so only order the full kit. I have to say their not the best for communication, we haven't even seen the area rep for nearly 3 years.

    Chain grinder..

Personally I don't like using them, I find it harder to sharpen in the field when they've been ground. It is expensive and don't really see the point unless your milling and have a massive bar. As for being a bit of a faff to take the chain off, I just think it gives you a good opportunity to clean the saw. I have to say if I was sharpening the chain on the saw in a vice, I would most likely take it off anyway and clean the bar and saw afterwards
  21. I'll be following this aswell. The only folk who have complained are the one's who assumed it would be a 3/16 file like other .325 chains

    Red Arrows

They flew over us twice about four weeks back. They were pretty low, see the pilots clear as day
  23. We got some clutch arms made to take the 2270 bearing instead of the 2260 (I think I've got got that right) made the job far better. Trying to get some more, but folk are asking daft prices. The original fella has now retired and hasn't got the tools unfortunately.
