  1. Glad you got it sorted 👍

Personally I hate decomp valves. We get far to many customers coming with saws, saying they won't start. 90% of them have the valve pushed in, pop it back out and they either start straight away or they've been flooded, and start with minimal effort. With the valve pushed in, it needs to be pulled over quicker to make up for the lack of compression. It might be a reason Husqvarna have taken it off some of the 5 series saws.

Unfortunately on the HT135 parts aren't as easily replaceable as earlier models. You need to get a drive tube assembly and they start at at £106 +vat. If it's the whole drive shaft you'll be looking at £306 + Vat
  4. I've got this Courant one.36 Ltr, and it fits a 45m rope, 5m landyard, crabs etc and a Protos helmet. I think there £68 + vat
  5. For loler I'll be using Scannable for inspections. It's a great app for individuals, firms and inspectors.
  6. 👍 got your reply, but been flat out today. Still working now! Trying to figure out what Stihl chains I'll need for the next 2 months and what climbing gear will be needed in the next month. Oh the joys!
  7. I've sent you a pm 👍
  8. They don't as far as I'm aware, and you need to change the brackets
  9. Use the Husqvarna grease, it's thinner than the stihl one. They only need a thin coating. I can't comment on the new offering from Stihl that come with an actual grease plug, as we've not had any come back so far
  10. Can't help much, but my advice get them sold and get the Stihl procom
  11. Here you go. I usually add a rasher or two of bacon, extra garlic and take a good guess at the brandy. Usually have to buy at least half a kilo of livers.
  12. Made some chicken liver pate tonight ready for dinner tomorrow (today)
  13. I remember going to Sierra Leone a good few years back, helping to build a training centre for the town. All the timber frame was being cut by a chainsaw. I was told to go and take a look at the cutting as it might be of interest to me. I got to the cutting site to find a bloke in flip flops and a 084 with a 50 odd inch bar. I could barely watch, but what I did see he could use a saw and the finished product perfect 👌
  14. Treehog th5000 is probably one of the cheapest options for a dedicated tree climbing harness. I may be proved wrong though
  15. The swivels have all been sorted and reworked by DMM. All good to climb on again 👍
  16. It's been a mix of the 20 and 25" bars. Not seen it with the one's running a on a 28" but who knows what combinations people are running. I've heard about a bloke running every bar from a 16" to a 30" the former being absolutely ludicrous
  17. I see he got the pro's in
  18. Main problem we've seen with the 500i is the clutch. It's been the folk who can be a tad lazy basic maintenance checks. A quick check would of saved them blowing through the clutch drum and cracking the crankcase. IMO the clutch isn't big enough.
  19. Black Friday is a pain in the arse! Had about 20 customers asking about any extra on stuff. We already give discounts as a standard, product dependent.
  20. I've got a couple in stock. Send us a message 👍

    Porting

Gave a lad your email today, so hopefully they'll get in touch.
  22. 14" if memory serves over here. Probably bigger in yank land
  23. The Husqvarna 540i or the Stihl MSA220 will be good. The Husqvarna runs .325 1.1mm chain and cuts great. Did some laying last year with one and it was brilliant. The Stihl, I have only used for small logs up to around 12". This was 3/8 PS 1.3mm. It has now been changed to a 3/8 1.1mm full chisel. This should cut for fun.
  24. Unfortunately I don't. I know of far to many people that have mental health issues due to doing the job. Some folk put far to much pressure on themselves and it buggers them up. It was starting to happen to me so I got out when I realised it was happening to me. I'm lucky in the fact I knew depression was setting in due to the job and moved on. Yes I miss it. As when it's good it's good. I love climbing and felling, and I keep my hand in, but I'm far happier in the knowledge my income is stable and I'm passing my experience on to others.
  25. Good shout. Mental health needs to be talked about, it's a big thing in this industry that no one shares. Glad you shared this as it might get others to speak up 👍
