  1. I'll be honest. I've not had a good go on it to give it good reveiw. It was Mike Cuerwen who said to try the swivel. He's been using his everyday since he got his and experienced the lock up. I haven't found swivels to be a problem on srt devices tbh. I'll try and get a picture if I remember
  2. It didn't like the DMM carabiners( it didn't lock up thiugh). I've put a DMM director swivel on mine which helps. A mate of mine has used a Rock Exotica Rocko with his and has no problems at all
  3. If you're going to change the sprocket, try the Oregon conversion kit. It's. 325 1.1mm running 46 links, 5/32 file to sharpen which is the same as a 200t etc. The full kit (bar, sprocket and chain) is around £32 +vat which is £6 less than an oem echo sprocket
  4. How many tie straps do you? I can sort them for you
  5. I got a copy at the time, keep going back to it every now and then. Great book
  6. To late for that. Just been out and used mine 😀 I'll probably buy one of his devices aswell though 👍🏻
  7. Well I've gone and got myself one. I can't go and sell them if I don't know how they work. Most probably just like the original, but at least I'll know. Off out on Saturday to give it a go
  8. As far as I'm aware(I might be wrong) the carving bars are 1/4 pitch 1.1 currently, some came with 1/4 1.3 a few year back. These are 60 drive links if memory serves. The 3/8 1.3 10i inch is 40 links. Stihl now do a 3/8 1.1 in full chisel. Not sure how well the bar would fit(might need to drill a new oil hole, if they even do a 10" for that chain) As for the nano or the Husqvarna equivalent chain it cuts brilliantly from my limited use. I believe the oregon conversion kit is less than 40 quid plus vat, which sounds an absolute bargain tbh
  9. Glad this has got some spark back into climbing equipment. With this, you've got to remember the the DMM Captain is £150 Inc Vat and that's one piece metal. No hinge which will take more manufacturing and testing. We will see how it goes.
  10. So @Reg Coates seems to have broken ties with Stein and hooked up (no pun intended) with Notch, bringing out a new grapple hook. It's a similar concept to the captain hook, but folds up and sits neater on the harness whilst being used.
  11. Showed the video to another mate today who knows his stuff. He thinks the spring has come out alignment. Unfortunately this can't be fixed. On another note, the spring has been addressed with the new vertec that has been released today. I've been having to bight my tongue about that.
  12. I've sent the vid to a mate who's going to the TCIA Expo in America. Hopefully he'll show it to someone that knows. He's on the plane at the minute so might not pick it up
  13. Duck oil for me. Don't need much and does a far superior job than wd or graphite powder.
  14. You posted as I was replying. The adjustable bridge is a good call. He could get one on the sequoia and improve either of them
  15. As @Rich Rule said it's there for the rope access world etc. I've climbed in both and can't see any advantage. Save your money
  16. I've had a quick go in one, felt comfortable to sit in. I didn't have a saw or anything hanging of it. Reasonable price I think aswell, with the price harnesses are going these days.
  17. Is it the high/low screws? Send me a pm with the serial number and I'll see if we have them at work. If not I can check with Stihl and give you a delivery date
  18. The X3 and X4 fit well, just need the different brackets
  19. 2012 I joined it says. I think I might of had another profile before that. This place opened my eyes to some stuff and I found some life long friends. Had a few meetings with folk I'd never met before and had a blast. Still in contact with some that aren't on here now. @silky fox

Good show, but quiet in my opinion. Saturday was the day for the travelling folk
  21. Can I ask if your running the 1/4 pitch chain and bar? As far to many folk don't know the correct tension for the solid nose bar that is provided. It's not a slant on you, just saying. When you say it runs rough. In what way? If it's warranty, you've got two year's with there professional cover
  22. Make sure the blades are freshly sharpened to get the bulk of it then go along it with secateurs/loppers to neaten up. I find the Stihl T blades better on Laurel

We should arrange to have a beer on one of the days. It will give me a nice break from talking the suppliers 👍🏻
