  1. I think for memory, some Volvo? machines have quick release couplings on the crowd ram as you purpose to do. Does the machine have a quick hitch? if so could you not make a bracket for the hitch to pick up and have the rotator hanging off the bracket. Then fully extend the ram before undoing the quick release couplings, save having to make brackets to support the ram. I would put the rotate circuit on the bucket ram circuit, and the grab open/close on the breaker lines, a bit more control when turning a length of timber with the joy stick than your foot.
  2. If I`m thinking right the hitch difflock said about is the type with the pin through the centre of the ball, and a handle on the side you turn through 180 degrees to release the pin? JAW-E40TC-3500K-LES BOLTS-PL - Bradley I used to have this type on an old vehicle, and did put an agricultural type puh ring in it, the only problem I had with it was, if you didn't use the pin regular it would start to seize in, even with a bit of grease around it, the salt/water seamed to wash it out, got to say though I didn't have a cover on when not in use, one might of helped.
  3. I think heard on the news the other week a branch of McDonalds was trailing writing reg numbers on the wrappers to see if it improved the litter in their area.
  4. I`ve got the same one long hand one and its still good for me aswell. the Oregon ones are good if you need to carry it with you all day as they are nice and light.
  5. From my own experience, and than of others, the replacement body panels don't fit very well off most dealers. I`ve used agriline for some engine parts as well, and seemed OK. Also had parts from emmark8888, helpful staff and large range.
  6. Sounds OK, my shell card off them, works out with the vat 131.38, and my Texaco fast fuel card off infuels, 130.83, not had my other prices in yet.
  7. When they are trying to sell you any fuel card they tell you what the price per litre is, and was last week, and usually sounds a brilliant price as you say saving 4-5p, then when you get the card the price is no where near the mark. I had one card sounded a good deal when they where getting me to sign up to them once I got the card I never drew any fuel on I because it was 3-5ppl more than my other fuel cards. Also just check as some cards charge if you don't use them. Fuel card services? their the ones in Burnley? If they are I`ve got a shell card off them, they seem OK.
  8. Top service again from skyland . Spoke to barry yesterday about the pre order I had with them, he said I had missed the courier but he would drop the parcel off in fedex on the way home, received parcel this afternoon. Thanks Barry & Mark
  9. One thing to check out, perhaps gardenkit can help out again, is where it can be used under load for engine braking, I seem to remember on case tractor 4240 the manual said some thing along those lines, as it would cause premature wear.
  10. Most landings I`ve seen tend to just use what ever hard core they can get hold of locally, more often than not shale from a farm hole/quarry, not normally any drainage in there, just perhaps a camber to run surface water off. If possible and your extracting a large amount of timber try and set up a one way system, to stop trailers ripping up the surface while turning around.
  11. There is a bloke I know in the same village(Denbighshire) as me has got a big static band saw, Are you a miller, or want some doing?
  12. Only just read this thread that thinking as some one else said, it was going to be give up drinking, fags, type of stuff. That's devastating news, stay strong for yourself and your family, I hope you can take some comfort from the fact there is a lot of people wishing you well and in their thoughts. Best wishes, and fingers crossed you get some better news soon.
  13. We had 3 assessments, first one was yard based, vehicle checks, equipment checks, (lights, signs, cones in good order), then set out a site in the yard, put signs out, lights up, cone off, etc then take it all off in right order to show you know what your doing before the next `live` assessment out on the road. The next one we had to draw up a plan of the site and what signs and equipment was needed, check council streetwork paper work in place, make a loading list, check the vehicle again load up in the right order for unloading, go to the site set it all up, show how you would clean cones, and change battery's in the road lamps, then take it down again. The last one was the same idea as the last but instead of traffic lights it was set up for stop/go boards. This was for a sector scheme 12 (I think) modules T1 & T2 Multi phase lights are an other classroom day, and assessment.
  14. Steve, I`ve just had 01682.
  15. As treequip said, but the trailer socket is subject to test now, so as long as you didn't alter the wiring, keep the fog lights wired to the socket, not the reverse lights. Just thought I think its only 13 pin sockets that are tested.
  16. Not got a wire less one myself, but know someone who had one to use on the back of the truck, then move it to the trailer when towed, it had a magnetic mounting, it worked but the picture was not as good/picked up interference when on the trailer. That was a few years ago so may be the technology has improved now.
  17. You can get an adapter lead to reverse the image if you need to, plugs in between the end of the extension lead and the monitor. To the op, you won't regret fitting one. Depending on your work, if you go onto large construction sites, highway jobs, or other places with more h&s people than workers, many ask for rear view camera's.
  18. Craig.

    Ported 390XP

I think this post might of made my mind up:thumbup: been thinking of getting a 390 and getting it `done`.
  19. Get your maximum legal weight on the van checked on weight bridge, with the load evenly distributed or where it needs to be to get the axle weights right, and measure down from mud flats, or tow bar, or any fixed point on body work, front and back and you`ll have a rough reference point to repeat a maximum load.
  20. Ref your tipper problem, harrier hydraulics/flowfit did have motors and pumps on offer not long ago, just an thought it might work out more cost effective?
  21. Are you going to sell you self on ebay:001_tt2: Sorry:blushing:
  22. Seen this myself, a ford galaxy (again) pulls up in layby opposite site, a eastern European gets out comes across and asks if he can have some timber, then calls across to car, an other chap and woman come back and they all carried the wood off back and to, to the car and filled every where they could in the car.
  23. James Hart in Chorley are good for Leyland and DAF parts, Used Daf Trucks Spare Parts Commercial Vehicle Parts ? James Hart I`ve found them to be helpful, and have parts that DAF don't have in stock, if they didn't have anything maybe point you in right direction. Or may be give cabmasters a try. Cabmasters
  24. I like this with my Kelly kettle, I`ve got the scout so I can get a few brews out of it and no need for extra water.
  25. Brilliant work there. Did you put anything in the base to help buoyancy?
