  1. Hi I have a client who wants some work doing in Shooters Hill area, SE London. Reduction of a couple of trees and a bit of pruning. I have unfortunately severed some tendons in my right hand and cannot work etc, so looking to pass the job on. Contact me Chris 07812 344740
  2. Transit 140D/c tipper and wife drives a Ford S-max Tdci 170 On the look out for a Land Cruiser
  3. Paul that looks a lovely truck. A lift kit will not give you more load capacity or weight allowance - think the DC Hilux's are rated at approx. 950=1100 Kgs. They are rated at 2200kg which is low compared to other trucks, but if you check the GVm etc you will find they are capable of towing 2.8=2,9 tonne Don't take any of the above as fact, check details for yourself, Chris
  4. If you carry loads near the max payload of the truck, or over a tonne, I would beware - Movano and similar, VW Crafter and MB Sprinter, etc are all single rear wheel. They do not carry heavy loads as well as trucks with the double rear wheel, like Transit and Iveco Daily, etc. That's just my experience and opinion, others may differ??? I have owned a VW Transporter T32 130 for the last 5-6 years, I am now changing to a Transit tipper!
  5. Wanted to say thank you to Justin and Chris at FR Jones & Son - we urgently needed a quote for a load of stolen equipment. Faxed the list over and had a written quote back the same day. Thanks very much, really appreciated - if we get paid out, the business is yours! Chris Coombs
  6. Thanks for the reply, will be in contact soon
  7. @ Pete Looking for some sides and poss headboard coverage for a Transit Double cab with one stop body - 08 plate. Need to be easily removable for getting brash, logs and bulky stuff in etc Idea of price and if I wanted to go ahead, how quickly could you do them? Thanks Chris pm me if you prefer
  8. Been wearing a baby G shock for about 6 years, brioke the strsp a few months ago and while I was waiting to send it off it packed up. Sent to Casio and for a £20 contribution they replaced it for a new one - awesome service, and a great bit of kit.
  9. Really nice job - something to be proud of. Congratulations to Adam, hope all went well with the labour Chris
  10. Still arguing it out with Direct Line, this company are totally inept, morally bankrupt and couldn't give a toss that I am the victim here. There Customer Service dept are now offering £200 compensation for poor service! I just want my claim paid out!
  11. My neighbour asked me to trim my trees..............................
  12. What he said, Good luck and enjoy!
  13. So sad, really feel for you.
  14. Congratulations to you, the wife and all the family - enjoy!
  15. So sorry to hear of your lose! Can't even begin to know how you feel, no one can, as they are not you or your brother! Hold your memories close and cherish your family and your brothers wife and kids. Don't be too proud to take up some of the very generous offers of help here. It might just do you a favour and give you the opportunity to share your thoughts. My thoughts are with you, your family and your brother - RIP
  16. Original '68 Mini Cooper VW Golf G60 Rallye VW Corrado G60 Cream of the Crop - Toyota Land Cruiser 80 4.2TD Safari build by Baillie's Off-Road RSA. So wish I had exported this UK!
  17. Like most people carrying out a public duty VOSA can't be shown to just stop Artic's etc. So they stop a broad spectrum of Motor Vehicles, looking for the ones that look iffey - broken lights, dirty, overloaded etc, etc. As Rover said, you will get the Good the Bad and the down right difficult, but most are just doing their job. And with the number of poorly driven Artics on our road, I'm thankful for them. Just please don't stop me when I'm having a bad day!
  18. Mix and match start prices depending on item Found a box of Subbuteo that I had forgotten about. Listed them over bank holiday weekend, had a load of offers, upto £250-300 for the lot. Let them run their course and made over £1100-00. Result!
  19. I'm in my mid forties, my parents were both born and brought up in South Wales. My Grandfather was badly injured in a collapse in the pits, and never worked again. My father had to leave school at 14 to help make ends meet, but vowed not to work down the mines. He came to London at 17 and joined the Police. I was brought up in South East London/Kent, there were five kids and money was tight. But I was taught to respect my elders and authority, and you worked hard for what you earned - and you only earnt what you worked for! True blue supporter all my life and happy to admit it. I don't believe any Gov't, party, is all right or wrong, some are worse then others, but I think that the breaking of the Unions and the miners strike was a good thing and a fair portion of the blame lays at the door of Scargill and his cronies. Only my opinion. Maggie galvanised the nation to fight and defeat the Argentine junta and free the Falklands. She deserves her State funeral.
  20. My comment was meant for Ryan - might have come across a bit strong. But that trailer does look well loaded - look at tyres!
  21. I know we all laugh and joke, but IMHO loading the trailer like that was highly irresponsible and downright dangerous! We all overload a bit now and then but that looks waaaaaaaaaaaaay over the mark to me! Blowout on the overloaded trailer tyres could have caused a major incident/accident - would you want to be responsible for possible outcomes. Chris
  22. A few facts IVA - you will have to have an IVA admin, he will negotiate a settlement of so many pence in the pound to your creditors, once agreed, you neeed to stay on board or face the wraith of the legal system and possible bankruptcy Bankruptcy: as in any debt recovery tools of the trade are protected to a certain value. If you have an asset such as a car, or this case a Land ROver, this can be taken away as the value will take you over the protected limit. Most people can catch as bus/train or walk, ride a bike etc - Silky did it! Selling off an asset to a friend to avoid a liability or to deprive the legal process and your creditors, and can in certain circumstances, be classed as a fraudulant act.
  23. Bit of an update - Do NOT ever insure with Direct Line! They have constantly moved the goal posts, and everytime we thought we were actually getting somewhere they demand another bit of info, etc, etc The latest - 9 weeks after the break in, numerous contacts, them teling us on at least 4 ocassions that they are requesting payment/authorising payment/don't know why you haven't been paid etc, they want to see the receipts that I gave to the assessor on the initial visit! Now they have demended that I sign some letter that states that I am under insured, they would then possibly have grounds to refuse the claim. It goes on - today we have contacted the Ombudsman, he has to notify the Insurer of our complaint and give them two months to sort it! What a farce!
  24. Margaret Thatcher - the Iron Lady. She Empowered women! Sorted Kinnock & the Labour party, the Miners, Scargill and crushed the Unions! Then her greatest achievement. She almost singlehandedly galvanised a Nation, and ensured the Argies were kicked back into touch. She stands alongside Winston Churchill as one of GB 's greatest leaders! RIP
