  1. As Treequip said - you are out of date! Re-take and re-fresh every three years. However, HSE will not be regulating it for much longer, it will be ofqual.
  2. As I remember it, noise should be limited and can be a Nuisance on a Sunday.
  3. Thanks, Mick, John, Gus and Wookie for taking the time to post, will follow those leads up Mick, thanks again

  6. What a **** day, had to pay £3000 odd grand to Tax man, so sat down this morning with my wife and made the payment, even though I think my accountant has cocked up! Went out to find some thieving scum bags have broken into my garage and stolen loads of my kit, climbing kit, rigging kit, rescue kits, tools, blowers, Combi system, drils, saws, planers, nail guns, loads of other kit - I Airsoft and its ALL gone!, etc, etc,etc Oh, well tomorrows a new day, lets hope the insurance pay out!!?
  7. My garage was broken into and I had loads of tools both work and personal stolen, along with a load of Airsofting kit, a large Vango Tent, etc, etc Still drawing up a list - £??, 000's later!! Sad times!
  8. How does it work if you spread it = how much can you claim, over how many years, percentage or amount/valur, etc, etc?? Wondering as having a difference of opinion with my accountant and I think I am right! But not sure I fully understand Scenario: Buy van £10,000 - can claim £10,000 in that tax year against Tax, under the AIA rulling or if spreading - how would that calculate? Thanks in advance Chris
  9. I'm near West Malling Good luck with your search - let us know what happens Chris
  10. Could well be interested, Reg and year - 2006/56 for example, were they built by Land Rover Special Vehicles or other, tax & MOT, approx price, etc, etc Sounds good!
  11. Paul I have sent you a private message Chris
  12. Just keep an eye out on ebay, lots of them on there, I got my Van vault for about £40, almost new condition - it was misspelt and finished ar an odd time, so I put in a cheeky bid and won! Also try and check out the provenance of anything you buy.
  13. Quote: Jaime Bray "Wow 30 years of on the tools skills gone out the window, never to be seen by an arborist again. Construction industry does not lose experience in that way, and id rather climb a tree at 50 than dig footings all day, so why does arboriculture not recognise and appreciate time served experience." Sorry Jaime, but it does!
  14. Still not sure how the scheme is operated Mr A Rb applies, to join one off joining fee? How much? Yearly subs? How much? And then what, how does he prove what he's got?? How are you going to quantify experience and ability? - Scenario A Arb A has been in the job 5 years but is highly capable and experienced, Arb B has been in the job 20 years, however he hasn't climbed for 10 years, doesn't go on the saws much. How do you quantify that - purely by years worked? Scenario B Arb 1 has 10 years experience CS 30/31 38 & 39, hard worker Arb 2, has 2 years exp bur has a bucket full of CS tickets Who is to say one is better than the other, how do you quantify the level of exp and knowledge?, who and how do you actually confirm Joe Blogss has all his CS tickets, 15 years of experience, and how able he is? How is it checked and who pays for it? Just trying to understand
  15. My parents live in a little Hamlet called Bierres En Armagnac, which is approx. 10 km's from Plaisance du Gers. Beautiful countryside around there, very welcoming people, good reasonably priced wine and beer - but how the prices have risen since the Euro!
  16. You need to get out of that cloud of B*llsh*t that your head is stuck in, I love Land Rovers but Toyota's are more reliable in the real world!
  17. Here the the Bill hook I have just purchased, any comments or opinions? My only concern is that it feels quite heavy?
  18. Think thats a little over priced with that sort of mileage!

  20. Reckon Pfanner are up at the top, however, the stitching of the fly zip is the weak point!
  21. Alex be well prepared if you are goig to tackle the subject with your boss, only you know whether you have a chance of 'persuading' him of your 'value. Do not burn your bridges! I would say that there are plenty of S/emp guys out there earning £80-150+, whether they be groundies or climbers. All according to luck and experience. I would say you are worth £80-120 at the moment. This will increase with experience. Good luck, and follow the better advice here!
  22. The whole article was complete and utter rubbish, Jeremy Vine deliberately acted it up and made some idiotic comments, which the general public will believe as gospel. I can't believe they spend the licence fee producing shite like this. Vine and his researchers should be sacked, for deliberate mis-information. As for Katie Holmes, from Land Based Training, well to say she came across poorly is an understatement! She came across like a half-wit! Just my opinion, and I felt it was that poor I have made an offiocial complaint to the BBC - there's a first time for everything!
