  1. For got to mention the German Shepperd chewed through the tether in garage, maybe a chain or steel core..... Do they have teeth when they are that young?????
  2. Years ago we used to fasten the German Sheppards to a lorry spring in garage to stop them going off and getting into mischief!
  3. Hi Ben! used to tow a oil filled 6' ballast rollar around the horse paddocks years ago with one & the other half used to tow a muck barrow filled to the top of greedy boards with horse pooh. Did this for many times, never had a problem. I suppose you could kill the 'hydro' easily enough, but they are semi-tough. Steve
  4. Hi guys, cooled a little over here on earlier posts, sorry if I confused the initial story. Sorry to hear of these all-to-common night mare realities. Mum who is very confused has entertained various tricksters, more so when the 'rewards' on offer sound good ie: super clean patio, non-existing long lost relation in a far off country leaving her a fortune.... though requiring funds to release. We have had quite a few. Last year she remortgaged her house and sent a large preportion off to her financial adviser who was investing it for her! All her funds have been redirected and now managed by the bank of which she has a grocery allowence..... 2 weeks ago we found her not buying food, but sending £10 & £20 to another scammer. We've changed her numbers as they call her. She then still doesn't believe she won't get anything back, so she calls them on numbers she has stashed! Bleeding heck it, it starts all over again. I know its easy to sit in little ivory towers with straight forward answers, but can tell you doesn't always work on the ground. Steve
  5. Q Hi Andy, Great piece of wood, great idea with the proceeds! Steve
  6. Still cannot believe you hold this view.... but hey ho, it would n't do for us all to be the same! Steve
  7. Mark I do not see the victims has idiots, I struggle to believe you do! Both I and another arb-talk member on this site, whose parents are in the 'idiot' frailty have lost monies/assetts totaling 78k.... this been due to confidence scams. I cannot even with the broadest of mind believe the victims are to blame. Does not matter if its £400 for dodgy arb-work or 78k for dodgy finances. This is a forum and everybody is entitled to an opinion, this is mine and I dislike the thought that people may think I concur with yours. Steve
  8. Sorry about the spelling.... not normaly that stupid, must be my age!!!! Steve
  9. don't get me going! Mother of nearly 80 haded over monies totaling 50k..... and its not unusable. Not certain where you have been. Steve 07813 041752
  10. or tip of a 60w light bulb, same guys, same system! Steve HMF 74 to 86
  11. If you are going to invest in a mewp its has to be robust and all round usefull to justify cost. Steve
  12. Hi guys, a few pictures from Sheffield & the Peak District Steve
  13. Hi guy's I have the NGM tough phone..... already been testing it beyond what is normal and its still working. Its been in the river, hit by truck and other mishaps and still intact. Its heavy, will knock in wedges so already a space saving device! Steve
  14. Hi there Orchard, you are one of the lucky ones! I will watch this afternoon at the imagination of fellow arbs.... the comments will be varied, though I expect there will be a common theme including some discomfort to the aggressors! Steve
  15. Hi Rover, more than likely don't need it for the mog, its a mewp. The motorhome is a coach without tacho so no. But you never know whats around the corner. Holiday relief driving, been offered little number moving F1 transporters and still have a % interest in a truck company from time ago.... as with haz/hiab and all the rest of vocational licences if I keep one then it stand to reason I will req the others. Steve
  16. Morning Andy! don't like the color 'grey' here...... The mog is HGV, my motorhome is HGV so off to do the CPC. Then if I want to go night-trunking to supplement meagre incommings the I can. Steve
  17. Hi Mike & Peter.... Yep, better i get a wiggle on. Just reapplied for my licence, medical, eye test, (55yrs) You think when you take them thats it, nope its just the start! Kind regards Steve
  18. Hi Nick, Having held my class one since before Maggie was in power, do you know when my aquired rights will run out and I must complete the driver CPC...... It rings in my mind this year???? Thank you and also to Lee for posting Steve
  19. Hi Lee.. Are you certain you have that right. 7490kgs used to be the cut-off off. for non-trailered vehicles. I have had class one since late 70's so to say I havn't checked in a while would be an understatement!!!! Steve
  20. of course they leak.... but landrover have the answer for that, its the gaps around the bottom of the doors to let the water back out! this all goes back to when locals used to drive them into the river.... it means the pressure equalises allowing you to open the door, as opposed to you suffercating! Its a landrover what do you expect.
  21. There has been a few tree related jobs around the area of 159 Dobcroft (residential house) in the last 2 weeks. If I was a 'scroat' on th look out for kit it has been a bit of a 'honey pot'. The road has always got landscape vans and similar parked up. Steve
  22. Yes, it was Fulwood last year and my top saw..... You wasn't around number 159 Dobcroft were you? Steve
  23. Hi Chris, Sorry to hear about this..... we were only up there a couple of days ago! Thieving rotton sod's. Steve
  24. Well done Dean....... pity the same can't be said for where you wine & dine your wife.... a bl***y lay-by on the side of the road!
