    Ms170 dead!

Hi, A new saw for £100? not worth buying IMO. Better to get the 170 repaired & save up for something decent. N
  2. Hi Ask her for the lottery numbers Friday then! N
  3. Hi Rob, Thank you for an informative post, Ive always considered Sugi one of the best bars available & seems an obvious choice when replacement is due. N
  4. Hello Steve, Just a note to say thanks you, this is really good. in response to the question about removed serial numbers, how about a field entitled 'other mean of identification' ? so users could enter postcode or smart water etc ?? Anyway, thanks again & donation to follow N
  5. Hi Why do people get so excited about their 'human rights'? If a computer scanning emails etc stops someone bleeding to death in the streets in this country or another. Then crack on. If it leads to a conviction, crack on, if it leads to a lethal strike so be it. If you don't like it google image search ISIL and see what opposition groups (not the majority of Muslims) want to do (western) Christians. This problem is going to go away and the time isn't right for diplomacy yet. I agree & people need to be vigilant in these troubled times. N

    Selling saws😥

Hi isnt there a formulae? correct number of saws = (current number + one) Keep the 346 & sell the other two if you need the cash, Id sell the 171 on E-bay as anything Stihl seems to go for silly money. N
  7. OK, Good choice - plenty of power there Be aware you maybe into class 2 PPE with a 461 as chain speed probably >20 m/s be helpful if dealers advised on PPE class for saw as the chain speed information seems well hidden! N
  8. I'll take one as well then, 460/461 are good saws but seems like the OPs budget has swollen somewhat! Unless its another dodgy deal from E-bay that usually ends in tears... Yes, you're looking at around £750 mark N

    Which husqvarna

Hi There is no comparison between a MS250 & a Husky 365, OK the 250 cuts well on a short bar and its handy when climbing but the 365 is a much better saw for firewood cutting in every aspect. If you want a smaller Husqvarna then a 555 maybe an option but the 365 is only about 25 quid more. I would avoid MS261s - they seem to have more than a fair share of reliability problems. N
  10. Hi Rowan, Try LS Engineers Pretty good for Stihl spares N
  11. Hi NLJ, I know Callington, used to live in the area about 25 years ago & there were plenty of rumours about what was going on! N
  12. Hi NLJ Made me smile that quote about Ginsters! N

    Good day

Hi Thats good team work, well done N
  14. Hi 365 good choice solid reliable saw with no gimmicks, I run 20" on mine but they can go to 24 its an excellent saw. Also easy to increase power if desired. N

    Which husqvarna

Hi I have a 365 on 20" bar, its excellent with plenty of power, starts easily, the air filter housing dosnt seem to collect much dust & gets the job done quickly. If your intended second hand saw is in good nick then its a good buy, anyway I thought 70cc was a 'medium sized saw' ! N

    Which Sthil

Hi, I also like my 250, OK its not a pro saw but certainly cuts well on a 14" bar. I agree the 181 is better than the 170. N
  17. Hi Jon, Yes, I often get asked what the parking charges are! Im surprised the cake shops were more popular than ones selling cider! N
  18. Hi Jon, I think if the local councils wernt so greedy with the business rates & allowed more parking without over zealous traffic wardens then the high street may be providing a bit more competition. Despite the current economic climate for businesses here, theres plenty of free parking in our local town with busy streets, all year round. I dislike the way some large organisations treat their suppliers with their profiteering and demanding terms & conditions of supply - it seems like share holders have become the only people they really care about. N
  19. Hi Ty, i'd remove it, particularly if its the type of pine that attracts processional caterpillars. N
  20. Hi I dont use a payment gateway or services but have heard Fidelity Payments are reasonable fidelitypayment.co.uk N
  21. Hi, I have an FS85 strimmer with a cord & wear wellies with fairly heavy duty trousers, dont seem to get hot even in summer although fairly acclimatised to heat here. If I had a brush cutter with a blade then I'd consider boots & chainsaw trousers. N
  22. Hi NormandyLumberJack, I visit Plymouth now & again & bought some carabiners & rope from Go Outdoors (PL4 0SE) but I suspect you want a supplier thats more Arb related, seems like theres a gap in the market as Radmore & Tucker is about 45 miles away. N
  23. Hi all, There seems to be a lot of 'pipe & slippers' apathy here when it comes to middle age, over 50 is not old - Ive often said 'old age' is a fleeting moment before death. Anyway, recently toured the Medoc region by bike with my O/H and four others, at 56 I was second youngest & oldest 63. In 8 & a half days we cycled 837 Km which is just over 500 miles & have every intention of a similar trip next year. N

    Husqvarna 365xp

Hi Thanks for that, my bad, but it seemed to me all with that suffix had it, perhaps I should buy a 390 before that gets 'updated', it does seem to make for expensive repairs if problems occur. N

    Husqvarna 365xp

Hi, So if your intent is to use, say an 18" or 20" for most of the time with a 28" infrequently I think you should be fine, just take it steady & increase the oil flow. The 365 is fairly straight forward to tweak, its similar to the 372 (uses the 372 crank case with slightly smaller bore I think) but I havnt played with mine. If you find you're cutting on 28" a lot theres always the 390 anyway:biggrin: which may even take the same bar - anyone know? be nice to own the two ! N
