  1. If you haven't got a ported saw ( or a big motor ) then sometimes it will make it worse . You need torque to pull a high gear . Like trying to drive your truck up a steep hill in top ....
  2. Is the very first one ( on the left in pic ) Robinia ?
  3. What color was the plug you first took out > If it was black and sooty could be running rich ....
  4. You astound me Holmes......
  5. I can smell the cooking from the photos ....Calamari ........mmmmmm
  6. Think the " little white grill thing " is a reflection on the shiny new plastic ?
  7. Oh I don't mind . Not much in it really . The Stihl has been around longer and the Husky one is supposed to be a bit harder to work on ( though mine as not needed it ) . The Husky one is supposed to have a straighter blow in relation to the handle so as to minimise the twisting moment that is present but not a big deal really ....
  8. I have the Husky hand held one and the Stihl BG 85 . The Stihl sounds as though it blowing harder than the Husky and the Husky sounds like a bag of nails but just edges it on puff .
  9. Neat trick !
  10. Looks like an ornamental plumb type ....
  11. They will until the rollers ware down then they will be OK for a chain at the end of its life but no good for a new one .
  12. I would have taken it back . There may be a whole batch of faulty bars sitting there ....
  13. I don't know if the oil hole would line up as never tried it but I do know that length for length a husky bar uses more driver links that the equivalent Stihl
  14. Isn't that Elves ?
  15. Hi Steve . Shed loads on this subject already . If you put log splitter in a search should come up with plenty
  16. Good spot Steve only I suspect he just can't spell as it has a Stihl sticker on the cover .....
  17. Zomax chinker ......

    Moto GP

Well . Anyone got money on Marquez winning every round let alone the championship ???
  19. The chain that came with mine was hopeless as are ,I seem to remember roller guides ! Change the chain for the Oregon one or better still get a loop of Stihl full chisel made up for it . Don't like roller guides as they work ok for the first few sharpenings then the plastic rollers ware down putting the file too low . Best to sharpen free hand or with an Oregon metal plate guide . Just me ....
  20. Had exactly the same with my first pair . I noticed coz there is a a black ware patch on the inside of the ankle . On mine it was on the inside on one leg and the outside on the other . There must be a duff batch floating around . They sent me a new pair strait away and left me to return the dodgy ones in my own time .
  21. The impulse pipe pulls off when/if you drop it on its strop and when the av spring is fully bent it wont fit back on
  22. And a drill and pin punch to get the old rivets out
  23. Depends on what bit you want to break . If you want the lower AV spring to bend and the techlite bar to come apart but a good cutting saw when its new go for the Husky . If you want the top handle to break and not cut any better than your knob go for the Stihl ....Choice is yours
  24. Got my bar changed under warranty , or possibly the very good will of my dealer , but did not get another chocolate bar . Got the older more robust Husqvarna bar .
  25. Second that . Bit of electric .
