Any one tried Scott oil ? Its proper chain lube but designed for motor bike drive chains . I has all the anti fling properties people seem to be wanting . Might be be too stiff I don't know . Expensive buying it in the small bottles sold in bike shops but maybe able to source it elsewhere in bulk for a better price ??

Although the ash was late here in my part of West Sussex ( when this thread was started ) it all seems to be flushing now . Also not seen any infected trees ( the map confirms this ) . Wonder why West Sussex and Hampshire have got away with it ....so far ...?

This won't help probably but the best value mower I ever bought was a Countax Saber 21" Alloy deck 4hp Briggs 2 stroke . Cost me £1.43p . That was 10 years ago still going strong .....

No Jon I don't . Too expensive . Use pump fuel ( not supermarket ) mixed with Red Line racing oil at 50:1 .

Depends on the condition of all the rubber parts . Petrol takes the coating off the rubber but, the petrol itself keeps it supple . the aspen , as I understand wont take the coating off if you use it from the off but it wont keep it supple like petrol does if its already been removed by the petrol .

Did the pin that stops the rings rotating come out ? seems to be were the heavy damage is on the piston ....
