  2. I find bone dry Euc goes with a bang sometimes .?
  3. If you have a horizontal splitter ( as I have ) then I suppose you get whacked in the bollox . Had a few rings go bang but no injuries as yet .
  4. Few dead wood sticks that could come out or not as the case may be . Nothing abnormal there . Tree looks in good health to me .
  5. Now a days its probably just working in front of the harvester felling over sized or steep banks were the harvester can't get . Years ago hand cutters would to everything .

  11. It might pay you to cut a few racks to ease accesses ( if its planted in a matrix ) ...say every 7 rows if its flat .
  12. My house was actually built with a 7.5" clay liner in the flue . The 6" stainless one is a nice snug fit inside that .
  13. My defra approved smokeless area ( nominally 5KW but punts out 8KW at full chat ) stove has a 6" flue . No problems with draw either . It pulls like a train .

  15. May be , maybe . At the end of the day they are riveted the same as a chainsaw chain and they can take some abuse .

  18. But these aren't " flail - type " cutting attachments . No swinging chains . Cutters are riveted to the disk . Not saying the wont fly off if they take a knock but this is not what is described in the European Commission document that you quoted .
  19. Sorry I was meaning hand cutters in general , thinking that coppicing would not keep you going all year round so you would have to do some forestry cutting and yes I was meaning a forestry harvester .
