  10. I think back in the day most estates had one .
  11. There is one in a steep bank/hill in the grounds of West Dean estate . ( it was on the shoot and the drive was called " the ice box " ) Across the road is a place called the warren . It is now a few estate cottages but used to be used to breed rabbits for food . The meat was hung in the " ice box " .

  14. Egrets have tuned up on the river next to me . Ravens are paired up and croaking and honking . Ducks paired up but one or two " threesoms " . Black bird now sitting on 3 eggs in log store .
  15. Deer can cause similar damage to beech . Don't suppose they are accessible to deer ?

  21. Can't say . Did not see him sharpen but could be edited . Bar was too long for the job anyway .

  23. Also he put chain ( sorry , blade ) in the ground once and has no idea what the dawgs/spikes are for as he never used them .
