  1. I would say they are aftermarket dawgs/spikes and not OEM hence the problems . Honestly they are of no advantage on a 50-60cc saw , even if the bar studs were long enough . That size saw would be used for felling and snedding out trees maybe a max of 2x bar lenght . Big dawgs like that shorten your effective bar lenght and get in the way when snedding . They are " soft wood dawgs ( thick chunky bark ) and suitable for saws of 70cc and upwards . If you want to " pimp " your saw then go for it . If you want a tool to do the job keep the standard dawgs , get the outer one if you want ( as on mine ) but standard lenght and fitting . just me .
  2. It looks to me that you are trying to fit dawgs/spikes that should fit a 372.572/385.390 .
  3. I think we might need @adw .........Andrew , help here ?🙂
  4. You might have to " spot " the holes through with a drill . I think its the same cover on your saw . Note the 562 cover is different in that the outer dawg mounting holes are further apart ( to account for the 3/8th running gear . Sooo if you buy a new set of dawgs get them for a 560 not a 562 . I think !
  5. If you take the clutch cover off and look inside are there not cavities cast for captive nuts to take the outside bucking dawg/bumper spike rather that the 372/385/390 one you are trying to fit ? ( as on my 560 below )
  6. Yes , its heavily influenced by the bass note .

  10. I had a thing for Grace Slick !
  11. Paul , ( silky fox ) ? Go to the beginning of his mammoth thread and that's how it starts ...
  12. When the lyric says " joke " ( life is but a joke ) on the word joke there is a bass note and what sounds like a diminished or suspended chord . Have listen . The bass player is involved . Its played like that by Jim as well .
  13. To be honest with you I heard , or noticed Jims version first . To me Bob was just a political hippie at the time and I put him in with Leonard Cohen and such . I was only 17 and very influenced by the likes of Jefferson Airplane/Starship etc etc .
  14. He is crunching out a very strong rhythm all through . Essential I would say .
  15. I'm glad you posted that spaceman coz I have a question . On the word " joke " there is a chord , a sorta suspended chord , I think its only played once but is very effective . Any one know what it is . Also thank god Bob Dylan wrote it or we would never have been treated to this excellent cover or indeed Jims .
  16. I started on Aspen then went Husqvarna just coz my dealer cold no longer get the Aspen but could get the Husqvarna one . I buy the 4 stroke one and mix it at 50:1 with Redline 2t racing oil as I have a good bit left .
  17. Same applies to Aspen 2T and Husqvarna XP power 2T .
  18. Dunno .
  19. Jonathan mate . So sorry . It is always coming and never gets any easier . You gave her the best life possible and she repaid you in spades bud . She will always be remembered I know .
  20. Get some irrigation pipe work in there .
  21. Sensitive " round over " ?
  22. Wiki says they are Oaks .
  23. I have a Borstal " old boys tie " . Does that count ?
  24. All my saws run well on Aspen or Husqvarnas equivalent . Not used Motomix but can't imagine a problem with it . The problems come when a saw has been used on pump fuel for several years . I'm not going to go through it all again save to say the Akylate fuel can show up denigration to the rubber components caused by the pump fuel .
  25. Yep . I was 17 when he died . Found it hard to come to terms with for a bit .
