You don't drag the file , you push it just like you would the way you are used to its just that you file downwards from the outer edge of the cutter . The saw would be facing the opposite way for the same cutter if you see what I mean . You might be better off googling it .....

I think it just gives a keener edge . You don't get any burrs that need knocking off like you can with a round file going from the inside to the outer .

You can buy files similar to that already . Files for sharpening square ground chain . You are supposed to file from the outside inwards as opposed to inside outwards though . They are hexagon , double bevel and a goofy .

Exactly . The lower edge ( that cuts the gullet ) does have teeth . If it didn't the file would not progress toward the back of the cutter as you sharpen . P.S. I like the look of it . Seems a idiot proof way of sharpening " square ground " chain . Wonder if they will make them in .058 gauge for a Husky bar ?

I think he is talking about the file but , if the lower edge of the file had no teeth it would stop the file from progressing back toward the back of the cutter as you sharpen .

I think Rough is hinting that the Stihl Ultra 2T oil is his oil of choice ( like Red Line 2t racing is mine ) However I think the Husqvarna and Aspen pre mix alkylate fuels have equally speced oils .

I thought ( wrongly maybe ) that the high RON burnt slower than the lower RON so in a lower comp engine you got slightly less power than if you used the standard faster burning fuel .

I buy Aspen 4 or Husqvarna equivalent and mix with Red Line 2T oil but only as I have lots around . If not I would buy the ready mixed . Not used the Stihl but both the others . I don't think , in reallity it is make specific but have heard odd stories regarding warranty claims ( you should have used " our " fuel etc )
