Me and my bud were coppicing Hazel and felling Birch on an estate a few years back . He had his standard 346xp and I had my Spud ported 346xp . We stopped for a break , bit to eat and a drink . When we started back he had picked up my saw ( unwittingly ) and I took his . I thought bollox whats gone wrong with my flippin saw that's how different it is .

My stove has a six inch SS liner fitting snugly inside a seven and a half inch clay liner so as insulated as it can get . And I get what you say but it does make a difference to how hot the stove gets and that is the bit that is in the room , the room you want to heat . Mine is also in a bit of an alcove and actually heats the whole house if you leave all the internal doors open .

Including the small gauze filter . Better still an ultrasonic cleaner .

I think you need to fit some vermiculite board , or bricks to reflect heat back into the fire box to raise the overall temp .

Mine is a Burley . Can get it going with brown paper and medium logs and some strategically placed fire lighters if I have no kindling to hand . Really good draw on the chimney .

I have one of the modern " more efficient stoves " and its a piece of piss to light and no smoke comes into the room . get one 🙂

On my driveway at the weekend there were two drakes wrestling each other and the duck standing demurely in the middle of the road waiting for the winner. I could have walked over and picked up the boys they were so intent on fighting !
