    Just been up on Harting down with the dog . Still snow laying about up there and 5 degrees . Drove back down to my village and its 10 degrees and wet .

    5 degrees here and intermittent rain . Going down to 3 tonight .

    He says the flue was swept last October . 5 months would not be a problem with my stove but if he slumbers it a lot maybe it needs sweeping again .

    I saw something that I have never seen before a few weeks back when we had a cold snap . It was a male blackbird perched on the " saucer " of a seed feeder and taking sun flower hearts . They are predominately ground feeders and will feed from a table if its big enough but never seen that before . Desperately hungry I suppose .

    Steve I do supply the above and used to enjoy copious amounts of the little fellas but of late , not a sausage . Plenty of other birds though .
