Indeed it is Mark, Or should i say wi aye man, away the the lads man, but on a serious note what a shocking programme, are people that removed from nature and a litttle bit of physical effort that they are prepared to pay that kind of money to have their hedge cut... it seems so.

why are people so gullible so as to pay the prices that this lot are asking.
  6. are you lot poking fun at somebody ?
  7. 90% of day traders lose money, say you out of ten trades 5 make money and 5 lose money by the time you take your time into consideration and pay your broker and the 0.25% tax on buying shares you will have lost money. There is no point in going in with chicken feed money as its not worth your time watching it constantly either. Don't get excited by profit and don't get down over losses, and capital preservation is paramount in the long run,
  8. Well mine has done about 300 hours by now, in that time had a new carb, clutch, and oil pump, all replaced on the day it broke down by the dealer free of charge, cracking saw to use, perfectly balanced and good bottom end power and nice and revey, would certainly buy another one.
  9. These things happen, on Saturday , started felling a big spruce with the 560 when the wind picked up an blew the tree slightly back on the bar and chain, went and fired up the county to pull the tree, fastened the chocker chain to the tree and pulled the tree over, but what i didnt see as the view was obcured when winching the tree over was the saw came out when the pressure was realised and slid down the root spurs in the front of the tree in the direction of felling, so when the tree came to rest the butt of the tree landed on the front handle bending it aswell as damaging the bottom mounting screws, the air was blue when i realised what had happend, got a new front handle and made good of the bottom mounting with JB weld, good as new now.
  10. Driving to work in the pissing rain knowing i'll be in the forwarder all day in the warm and dry as opposed to getting soaked all day out on the saw felling.
  11. When you think that England has a population of 50 million and Wales has just 3 million, the significance of their victory is all the more remarkable, well done to the boyo's from the VALLEEEY'S,
  12. Well according to Raoul Moat, Rothbury is his choice for a bit of peace and quiet, he's the one to ask, he can give you pretty good idea on where to stay.
  13. Chaps, i agree with you, he has never married, never had a girlfriend, never had a holiday, he only works now so as to meet people to occupy his razor sharp mind as he is avery much a people person who has mixed with the very low of society and the very high of society and everyone else in between, without his business he would just become another old age pensioner that you would pass in the street and not look twice at. but a remarkable man from another era, he's great company to be with and supreme judge of character,
  14. Exactly Bob.... A lot of people are in business to get nice new shiny machines, it makes them look as they are doing well, anyone running their own business should be money motivated for the sole purpose of increasing their bank balance and certainly not trying to look all flash and self important. I know a chap who lives in a rented house that runs about in a twelve year old van, Hasn't got a car, and who's a multi multi millionaire from running his businesses on a shoestring budget.
  15. hi. its probably the handbrake positioning, on start up it is telling you that the brake is on, it will also tell you that the brake is off when indeed the brake is off incase you jump out after starting and the tractor runs away if parked on a hill. its a while since I have driven a valmet but the above is what I seem to remember.
  16. thats a 1124, 6 cylinder County. fitted with a igland 4000 winch wit the narrower '38' wheels. Up until 20 years ago this model used to be our main skidding tractor. spent a lot of time in a County. .
  17. I used to have MF 1200 years ago, fully guarded with cranab crane off a bruunett forwarder, front blade, sprayed in MB track green and black paint, it looked the the dogs bollocks but boy did it have its drawbacks, low ground clearance, and only one steering ram which was pretty poor at turning due to lack of power in the steering pump, another thing it kept mincing the rubber grommets in the main pulley that linked the engine to the gearbox, saying that though it was a very good machine for what we used it for which was skidding out the felled trees with the skidders, and cutting up by saw and stacked with the Mf on the forestry road,
  18. Fair play to you for keeping the old girl going, and still able to do a days work, the beauty of being a owner driver!!,, most new machines are hammered in their early life by the drivers that bragg about putting a thousand tonne a week on roadside that ends up sitting there for months drying out.,
  19. I see. Remember them from the 80's, seemed to have few transmission problems from what i remember,.
  20. A 360 tracked excavator with a beak, i think Clarks of Parkgate make and supply the beaks to fit on the boom.
  21. The only farmers i feel sorry for are the tennant farmers who after paying their rent are making very little, with land prices at say 9k acre i cant feel any sorrow in my bones for a farmer who probably inherited the farm from his father, so a farm of 500 acres is worth 4.5 mill, my heart bleeds, plus the sale of the machinery, livestock, i cant see them stacking shelves at Tesco any time soon. just think how much they had in subsidys since the end of the sec ond world war, which is money for improving their business and their property, how many of us here receive money for staying at home to improve our property? we only hear the bad news when they aren't doing so well as they would like to, how come i never see a old forty year old tractor in the fields, the vast majority here on Arbtalk who post their pictures of their forty year old tractors are in the make do and mend category, but saying this i wouldn't want to see the countryside become a total playground for the fat bloke from the City to have exercise to prevent him from having a heart attack either!
