  1. Well if this true he has done little to be rewarded a new contract, its as good as saying stuff you.
  2. If jeremy valued his job then this would not of happened either, but no what does he do he lamped the producer, knowing full well he is on his last warning, it seems to be it was all pre planned to quit the BBC for future riches with another organisation. .
  3. Thats looks to me like its a falcon crane, used to be sold mainly to feed the trees to a bed harvester on a back of a tractor called the Falcon Nokka back in 90's .
  4. I see enough of trees and chainsaws, do something completly different cause monday morning will some come around,
  5. Could it be Alan Shearer in a Sunderland strip?
  6. Mhhh, nasty, what do you want to swim in very cold water for? .... i can't swim at all, almost drowned twice, and the people trying to save me with me flailing my arms in blind panic.

    Veg oil

If i were you i would just use some cheap car engine oil, not as good as chain oil but better than veg oil, if i run out of chain oil i use engine oil until i get some chain oil again.
  10. Thats very tidy brookie, lovely flat ground , why isnt a harvester doing it?
  11. 1. Why accept poor time keeping. 2. £70.day, is a piss poor rate. 3.why haven't you told him sooner that you expect much more from him. 4. Why is here lodgeing 35 mile away to start with. 5. He was never the right man for the job, lacked drive and commitment to say the least.
  12. There maybe only 2 or 3 of that kind in this country bill, but they are very popular in Canada- America where they grapple skid the whole tree to the roadside processor, but there are other makes of skidders out there that do a similar job, biggest problem for the drivers is suffering back problems from facing forwards in the seat and twisting the spine to look behind to see whats happening,
  13. Its a Tigercat skidder innit.
  14. Ok, just look at it from the BBC's view, would you employ a bollshy workman who has had repeated warnings, swung a punch at you and tries to make you look a fool by pushing you to the limit,, i wouldn't, he would be down the road as soon as. On the other hand we do live in a namby pamby state that is so far removed from the era i grew up in , where been an individual with strong views is deemed a troublemaker, so in that case good luck to him.
  15. I am in a state of shock at the very thought of spending that amount on a play thing. put the loot in a company called Kaz Minerals and then thank me in 5 years time.
  16. Thats right Stu, only difference is one has a turbo and one hasn't.
  17. I have a 1164 and a 754, the 754 runs rings around the 64 when it comes to climbing up steep slopes etc, 754 much more agile and better balanced, 754 also better on fuel although mine has a uprated engine of 85hp instead of the normal 75hp.
  18. Thats right Jamie. Forestry is like an open air factory where skill and speed is needed to produce timber on a consistant level to show a decent profit.the difference between arb and forestry is like night and day. lol, i remember some years back i had a new bloke come to work for me in May and by september his weight had reduced from 14 stone to 9.5 stone,, a good worker but i could see him fading day by day.
  19. In forestry not only is the timber not given to you for free but you will find that you will have to pay about £20 ton add on your working costs then add on the haulage and your are left with c £5. ton from a start price of £40 ton.
  20. I like both, 560 lighter and more revvy, 362 more bulky but more bottom end power,.
  21. Word of advice jon, read your message through before pressing the send button if it doesn't look right don't send it, or get a spell checker to try and help you. good luck with engine.
  22. I think you will be hard pressed to find one, as they are in high demand and are part of a bigger harvesting setup ( ie working alongside a harvester).
  23. You won't make much money working for someone else as you are there to make money for them or doing the rough stuff that they don't want to do.
  24. Yep he was West Indian, he must have took pjity on us and thought how are they going to get these trees out of this hole,. There was some cracking timber in places.
  25. I once had 3500t given to me for free, it was good size western hemlock on steep terrain which had to be skidded to roadside for the harvester to deal with, on completion of the job the owner a Indian chap that owns a string of flourists shops in London came up and congratulated us on a job well done and gave me a en scribed silver tankard to put on my mantlepiece, .. i dont get these terms and conditions very often.
