  6. As reading the posts in this thread i cant help but notice that you tree surgeons are under the illusion that a van and chipper and saws etc are expensive machinery. whilst it may be true compared to say a window cleaner or maybe a bricklayer its peanuts compared to setting up a haulage contractor, forestry contractor, or a agricultureal contractor, etc, where running costs a maybe 10 times higher than running a small tree surgery business, i am not knocking tree surgeons in any way, just letting you know to be greatfull for small mercy's.
  7. Kingworldnews.com seem quite bullish on gold.
  8. why not borrow the money from yourself? you can charge yourself as little or as high interest as you like.
  9. yeah try brushcutters idea. you could remove the spherical bearing by circlip pliers and give it a goof clean, then refit and try.
  10. Have you tried changing the grease nipple?
  11. That is good news for you, i hurt my shoulder about a year ago, i had the wrong treatment to begin with, was supposed to go for a operation on it but the hospital cancelled at the last moment, two months later they were ready for me, but by that time i had self healed it, now its back to as it was before,.
  12. hi rigger, was down your neck of the woods yesterday, at Newquay, nice place, reminded me of cornwall... loved that old stone harbour.
  13. On wet sites once the brash has been trodden in after numerous passes with the forwarder the soft peat underneath comes to the surface especially in wniter which makes the ground even more soft, then the bandtracks rip the ground to shreds, picking up mud and dropping it off on the roadside as going to unload, keep doing this repeatedly and the travelling rack turns into a qwagmire pretty quickly To try to eliminate this you can try and thatch the rack by bringing brash from another part of the site.
  14. Yes they make a mess in wet conditions, but if that what it takes to keep the job moving then so be it, some of the jobs i have done i instantly know before starting it that i'll cant get the job done without wheel chains fitted. mind you if you think wheel chains make a mess, it nothing compared with what bandtracks do .
  15. Yes they will give you traction like you wouldn't believe, a lot cheaper than a powered trailer,
  16. I know a bloke who's roof is so bad he has a selection of old tin baths in his bedroom to catch the water when it rains. he doesn't see anything wrong with this as he has been doing it for years he tells me. house proud he aint.
  17. The Panther tank was probably the best tank in the second world war, much more reliable than its more famous partner the Tiger tank, very interesting story though,
  18. jon said he's been to both front and rear passage's and thought the front was warmer but slightly damper.
  19. Instead of stopping and reversing to free the diff, just kick the brake pedals with a sharp tap with your boots, thats what i have been doing for years on my County's

  22. I have mainly found dealing with women at a lot more hassle than men, ,generally mens attitudes are " yeah thats fine thank you" some women can be more difficult and seems they have no qualms on mentioning the most trivial of issues,
  23. He feels threatened by seeing you in his area, this sort of thing has being going on for years and years, i would have gone up to him, looked him the eye and told him thanks for pre warning me of you intentions as i will be informing the police of your intensions, so if i have slightest bit of trouble out of you matey the police will no where to come looking and come looking they will, so take your little threat and stuff it where the sun dont shine. then he will probably say i have warned you, then say i have warned you too, stalemate, .. by which time the two brain cells he possesses would have clicked that this isnt worth the botther.
  24. Thats knackered it, don't like the bloke, treats people like they are kids, won't be watching.
