  1. How would it lessen the work load? it still has to be delt with.
  2. If I had to guess and it would be a guess, I would say you would be looking at a 4ft-5ft squared would be approximately One tonne in weight.
  3. this is making my head hurt.
  4. Do you mean not for tree surgery on public land? The listing gives the impression that this can be used on the roads to do arb work with no tax or mot and run on red??
  5. I have just been looking at this listing on ebay, it states that this land rover is clased as an agricultural vehicle so it can be run on red diesel and is tax exempt and dosnt need an MOT! This cant be right can it??? surely all arb guys would have them?? Land Rover Defender 130 Tipper - 300Tdi - Tree Surgeon - Arborist | eBay
  6. Ive never come across this before ill keep my eye out for these in future.
  7. Do these beetles just eat the fungal growth or the wood?
  8. The fence around your yard looks smart.
  9. ha ha enough said.............maybe the mods should make the stolen equipment threads unviewable to non members??? probably wouldnt make much difference thinking about it, just make the process a bit more involved.
  10. I havent gt one but i can imagine they are quite good when you are climbing around the crown of a large tree but maybe not so good when you are working in a more compact tree or wading your way through an overgrown Beech hedge.

I know a few people with these waterrproofs and they all say they are very good. The only bad thing ive heard is the outside pockets on the trousers come unstitched and rip off very easy, but apart from that they say are very good, very waterproof and you dont get as sweaty as others they have used. The smocks have a pocket for your mobile phone in the collar which is a good idea and the high collar is good for keeping the rain off your neck.
  12. My uncle deals with a guy in south sheilds who reburbs these kinds of heavy duty wood working machines, if you want I could get his details, I dont know if he would have what you want in stock but he has a lot of stuff and he could get you one im sure.
  13. I third this Wadkin are excellent quality machines, built to last. Its hard work moving them but worth it compared to other makes.
  14. tis a grand tree, would it not be benificial to get some mulch put around it?
  15. NO NO definatley not...
  16. I would say it is well worth doing, especially for someone relativily new to arb! Its reasonably cheap as far as arb quals go, £50 for book -£100 exam. It requires a good standard of knowledge to acheive. You can study at your own pace with no pressure and apply for the exam when you feel confidant to do it. It requires continual development to maintain. I cant see any reason why an arb would not want to do it?
  17. Very nice mate, looks smart. How have you dried your wood? and how long for? shame you didnt do the plugs:001_rolleyes:
  18. ISA is not an online course!, you read a book and build your knowledge up and then do an exam to get certified. (basically)
  19. Best gloves ive seen for Hawthorn are someone else's, with someone else wearing them! On a serious note the welders gauntlet gloves are very good, cost about a tenner. matt
  20. Ive have never really done much with timber extraction until recently. We have been having a struggle getting the logs out to somewhere that is accesable by the hiab waggon. A friend had seen a log dragging device and decided to have a go at making one for the back of a quad. We tried it for the first time the other day, it works well!! Just thought id share some pics.
  21. I have worked many of weekends, sometimes because employers wanted me to, but mostly to help me save up a deposit for my mortgage and save some spending money for my holidays. In the jobs ive done overtime has never really been an option just weekends.
  22. exactly, doesnt do any good rubbing people up the wrong way, it can only ever work against you.
