  1. See the local TO and get a TPO on it!
  2. I just think how many companies take two climbers on when they get busy, opposed to taking on one? Its not unheard of obviously but its a lot easier for one climber to get work with small businesses than two. I think you would be better working together doing your own work, things may be hard to start with and may take a long time but the potential would be great.
  3. To try and find work for a two man climbing team is just making things hard for yourself imo. Wouldnt it be a better option to try and set up a tree business between you? if you can get the work i suppose? regards Matt
  4. Ive done a beech stem about 25ft long, maybe not breaking any records but gave me back ache pushing the mill along.
  5. Ive got some planks and beams for sale mainly oak but some other sp aswell, not sure what the best way to advertise them is? or how much demand there is for it?
  6. It isnt a case of legality its about industry best practice and HSE recommendation. I belive the guidelines say that two handles should be used at all times apart from in extreme cases like when you are at the extremities of a limb and you need to hold on to something to position yourself then the saw should be used at arms length if using one handed. As for as your supervisor getting in trouble if you hurt yourself I think he is right to tell you to use the saw with both hands if it is possible, he is responsible for your safety as are you and you should be working to guidelines because if you dont and then hurt/kill yourself some one is in big trouble.
  7. This is what I am going with!
  8. the soft southerners!
  9. I have just ordered the ISA manual and CD combo for £90 I want to read through it and get myself booked on the exam as soon as possible. I will let you know what I think, for anyone who is thinking of doing it. I want to get it done and then its another reason to book on all the seminars through the year to build up the CUD's?? CDU's?? UCD's?? CPD's?? CED's?? units of continual development i think ?? oh dear there may be trouble ahead?
  10. There is another option you may have over looked????? Now and again you come across a customer who you cannot please no matter how hard you try!!! But youre probably just too expensive, driving around in youre new motor!!
  11. They are very light, manoverable and useful in the tree for small felling jobs. I find they ease the strain on my wrists when choggin stems down. I really rate them, but many dont.
  12. Rehab is for quitters.
  13. This one has dissapeared altogether? it was for sale for two grand in Shetland. i had it saved and its just gone?
  14. Unfortunately this applies to most poeple I know!! Ha Ha
  15. The other listing for the greenmech has just been removed also.
  16. Sorry Felix dont mean to sound so sure of myself but I am sure this and another couple of listings are fraudulent. Reasons why?-- a couple of usernames very similar, both set up on same day last sept, no feedback, both listing way under priced machinery, no feed back, no proper addresses apart from North and Shetland! £200 delivery, money to be paid by BACS. they are scams if i ever saw one, do you agree or not? matt
  17. Ok Ill carry on watching the seller and wait for them to get there first positive feedback.
  18. Yes youre spot on. i have already seen this and asked a few questions?and had a little word with ebay. oh dear listing ended all of a sudden?? wonder why? there is one more on there see who can find it first?
  19. I have always liked the look defender but never really driven them much until the last twelve months or so. To be honest at first i wasnt too impressed, i thought they were a bit sluggish, uncomfatable, horrible to drive! BUT more lately I have been working with them and changed my mind completley! I have made the mistake of comparing them to an normal vehicle. They are more like a tractor- a real work horse, powerful, robust, simple, tow anything and you can add loads of mans toys such as winches, chains, lights, big mud pluggin tyres, bars -- i have really got the bug at the moment. I dont think it will be long before there is a one outside my house.

  24. First of all i would ask has this problem just started? is the fire new? has it ever worked well? could be a few things, sometimes getting fires to work properly isnt just so easy sometimes and often you get teething problems. matt
  25. This is what has happened in this case, It was a deal done outside paypal and because he wasnt familiar with ebay and the safest ways to pay for things he has had his fingers burned. Sorry about the langauge
