  1. I've always liked the ideas of tattoes. Problem is I wouldn't want something meaningless, but at the same time wouldn't want to sound like a pretentious douche trying to explain it. In our trade I can't see a problem, but I'd avoid garish ink that can't easily be covered. Not my prejudice, but those of the people we work for perhaps.
  2. It's easy to write Stevie off as a bit of a backwoodsman type knuckle dragging saw jockey. Don't be fooled, he's actually a philosophical and psychological genius!
  3. Don't you have to thread your line through from the end and remove your device for that?
  4. The compression is part of the problem! Any normal saw wouldn't be too bad to keep restarting on spikes!
  5. Wilko. From memory I ordered a couple of carbs from L&S as they were a got price. One for the saw and the other for you to cover your labour. It would have been Zama or Walbro for sure, I'll check. I'll do the above and if no good I'll bring it to you. To be honest nowadays I'd rather pay you and be sure of a good result than try myself and always be a bit uncertain. It's only really an issue when I'm climbing and have the saw idling for a minute or so between cuts.
  6. It's a gem of a saw mate, real proof that your well worth the money. That saw was like a stray mutt when it came to you! Still got that stalling after a cut thing going on though. When I come to pick up the 66 I might leave it with you again
  7. Careful, I'll bring the 357 back!
  8. Haha I wasn't completely serious It's never been used, no one was even expecting it to run, and all we had was saw mix. I imagine we'll get some unleaded for it at some point. Then again, maybe not!
  9. Technically it doesn't need oil any more now it's running 2 stroke, right? It was indeed all we had, and it does smoke! Thanks for pissing on my chips about the throttle cable anyway Barry, the springs are all stretched and worn. It'll still comply with PUWER right?
  10. Thought I'd share a fix of a somewhat technical nature. Petrol lawnmower given to us for free. Nothing suspicious about that. No throttle cable. Filled it up with 2 stroke, primed and it fired, but couldn't bring the revs up. I'm not the type to cut corners so after a brief head scratch I came up with this: If my technical expertise can be of any use to you Spud, feel free to pick my brains
  11. Is that a double braid or a 16strand splice?
  12. Spud, can you replace the HT lead on a 361 without changing the ignition module? Ours has an intermittent break near the plug.
  13. So yesterday I smashed my elbow into a stub while starting the little Echo. You know that horrible nerve that sends electric needles down to your third and fourth fingers. Today I did exactly the same thing. I now struggle bend my arm at the elbow. Hence my posting on this thread. Anyone using the 200 battery? Or smaller. I'm not interested in the big 300 battery. How do the smaller ones last? I obviously don't intend to use it for takedowns. Also, what difference is there in the Chargers? Why is it worth buying the £50 or £100 one when I assume the £30 will charge a battery overnight.
  14. The rule at our place is if the groundsman gives it the OK, and the climber comes down and spots a bit, it's the groundy going back up to finish it.
  15. Is that the fart box he was on about?
  16. All goes onto the same pile for me!
  17. Many a true thing said in jest though, eh Huck?
  18. I hope it's the best of both worlds. The power of the 2510, with the size and weight of the 360. They could be onto a winner!
  19. What's wrong with a 50% gob?
  20. Alway good to avoid smashing your elbow into a tree when starting your topper too.
  21. Never does, until the Mrs checks your credit card statement.., Too soon bro, too soon
  22. Very good. I thought Plogs had got hold of your keyboard for a second there...
