  1. Well I'd imagine you can't be too big in your game, you'd have to be brave (or at least not squeamish), and if you're hard, well, I'd keep that to yourself...
  2. So now there can be something to be learned?
  3. Yourself included?
  4. When I need a retrievable craning point I use a fork...
  5. The joys of selling timber Al! Is it's not too expensive, it's too big, small, the wrong colour, or possibly not Halal...
  6. I'm not!
  7. You didn't answer any of my questions Stefan. I'm not being negative, but while I enjoy my work it's not the only thing I live for
  8. It's not terrible money for a mere half a days work Stefan...
  9. Very good point Sean
  10. A not so wise man once said "£50 a day plus beer money"
  11. If they do I'm missing a trick
  12. Well said. Although I've only had two fells from memory cock up resulting in damage. One was sub 15".
  13. I'm a midlander. Does that make me Italy in the war?
  14. I thought he was toast in the penultimate episode. That would have been it for me. I'm changing my last name to "Giantsbane" also.
  15. "I have a jug of sour goats milk, far stronger than that grape water you soft southern ***** like to suck on"...
  16. Hahaha you bastard.
  17. That's how it starts. For the fifth birthday it's snorting coke from an escorts arse crack.
  18. Half hitch and timber hitch/running bowline etc
  19. Anything over 12" topper length gets the 20" 441 That said I'd love a topper with guts to pull a 14" Dempseys got me tempted with the upgrade kit.
  20. Thanks for you reply Paul. My concern is that the AA promotes good arboricultural practices. It can be expensive and hard work to gain your endorsement, but it's arguably worth it in the long run. However when a video of this sort appears in the public domain, carried out by a company you've accredited, it completely nullifies everything that you as an association, and the companies who have proudly earned your accreditation are working towards.
  21. Well don't get me wrong, there are few things worse than Big Brother, but you say that as though it's a good thing. What do you hope to earn for yourself (not net) in your 16 hour day? Do you have a family? Kids? Do your clients not mind a stump grinder going full whack at 20.00 when they're trying to enjoy a bottle of wine with Big Brother? I suppose they'd overlook it if it's half the price of the next quote.
  22. The irony is strong with this one. If we can perhaps keep it civil we might stand a snowballs chance of running an interesting thread. Playground bickering is gonna sent it in the other direction.
  23. I'll be interested to see how the AA handle this. Their scheme was something we looked into getting on. Lot of expense and jumping through hoops, but arguably worth it... ... Until you see a video of this type of work in the public domain performed by an Approved Contractor.
  24. Me? Never As a subby climber those two saws tick pretty much all the boxes. I'm employed and still usually use my own saws through choice, as I know they'll be running and cutting well. My mid range climbing saw is a 441 on 20" I also have a 357 on 15" for ground work/small felling.
  25. So for shedding or a chipper saw which one do you use?
