  1. Won't fit in mine. Yours would probably take it.
  2. £35?? Actually the strop ring is well engineered, but it doesn't work great for short clipping with a lanyard cinched to it. It swivels, making it tough to unclip. Bought one of them posh recoil lanyards.
  3. God I wish it was orange and black.
  4. Look at the third picture. Tiny melted hole in the exhaust cover. I'm past being precious about kit now. I'm proper anal about cleaning and sharpening, but that's just good sense. It's a tool. Gonna get scruffy. Then again, I just spent £50 on a bloody lanyard for it. I need help.
  5. For Chrissake. Instagram told me they'd banned you! Back on track. How was your day Mark?
  6. Careful. You're one step away from being one of those people that tells us how lucky we are in the summer, but can't be arsed to put the kettle on in the pissing rain in the winter. I hate you.
  7. I forget, are Syc more fun to climb in the wet, or less?
  8. I did think that today! Why can't you get one mate? I don't need the cash mate. The Vaseline is always welcome.
  9. Christ. How big was the bloke pulling you up the tree?
  10. Same as the Spiderjackery vid mate. Give a great climber any bit of kit and he'll make it look useful. I'll stick to my Geckos.
  11. Well in hindsight, yes! Or you could just replace the retaining screw for the spark screen. Problem avoided then. I'll get a dremel on the cover and trim it up. Sooner or later I'll get Spud to pull the CAT from the exhaust and put another hole in it. Not that it needs waking up, but hey. Yeah, I never thought of the 150 as clunky until I put them next to each other. I was properly cynical about this saw. Someone said earlier in the thread that it was almost comparable to a full size topper. I instantly discounted that person as a bit of a tosser. (Wicklamulla, I owe you my sincerest apologies, and a beer! )
  12. So, took the Echo out for a play today. First time it's seen fuel. Started it up and left it running while I put my glad rags on. Small cherry to kill. 15" at base. Ticking over this saw sounds like a purring tiger... on Speed. It's a happy noise. Even fresh out of the box and not bedded in it picks up quickly. This was one thing I was concerned about. The 150t is a nippy saw, and the Echo 360tes that I used took a while to get going. Not the case here. I stripped out the small side limbs and top pretty quickly. I was already impressed. Then I started on the stem. The power is lovely. If you let the chain cut under it's own steam it handles timber above bar length happily. Noticeably more torquey than the 150t. The weight doesn't feel particularly lighter than the 150 at first, until you start to swing it around in one hand at full reach. It's definitely more wieldable. The only negative points I can muster up are the slightly unrefined on off switch, and the plastic bit that keeps the oil cap attached to the saw can obscure the oil filler hole a bit. Just means you have to pour slowly. Nothing at all really. Bear in mind that the Kioritz engine will bed itself in after a few tanks, and the power will increase further. One point to note. If you remove the Spark Screen and don't put the screw back in, you end up with a small melted hole in the exhaust cover.
  13. Get a great big stain on the carpet, suffer the abuse for a few days, and then get on with life. It's liberating once you mentally write off your deposit. That said, lizzie is almost as bad as me for knocking stuff over so I don't get too much abuse.
  14. The saw hasn't ever seen chain oil mate. Not that it matters. Our carpet is a "wipe your feet on the way out" type affair. Wine, bolognese, curry, coffee, you name it. Our deposit is in the wind
  15. How did you know, did I leave a porn mag in shot? It's a 0.043 1/4" 10" bar from a 150t
  16. Technically it was free. Home brew from Christmas. Bloody awful.
  17. Lovely, Big Thanks to Rob D! I'll pit it against the mighty 150 tomorrow!
  18. Cracking job lads. Truly impressive. What happened to the nest
  19. Same 28"-30" depending on how I'm living. Treemotion doesn't budge. Set is so it's almost difficult to do up and it's fantastic
  20. I have Scafels, Airstreams, and Stein Werewolves. All are great, but if you already have a pair of chainsaw boots, I'd go for the Werewolves. Fantastic for climbing, and very comfortable for hiking too.
  21. Did a medium oak deadwood and thin this morning. I've been mainly ddrt recently but I used the wrench for this. Lovely. Definitely easier than ddrt with a few decent redirects.
  22. £200 plus import duty, and no CE mark. As a LOLER inspector where do you stand on that? It's a fantastic device though, and worth every penny. I want one
  23. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=88065
  24. Have you considered a Lewis Winch? The type that fits onto a chainsaw? Steve Bullman posted a short video of one a while back, though most of it is of him being mugged off by a Swan...
  25. Show off. Probably another purple Plum for me.
