  1. I'll be interested to see how the AA handle this. Their scheme was something we looked into getting on. Lot of expense and jumping through hoops, but arguably worth it... ... Until you see a video of this type of work in the public domain performed by an Approved Contractor.
  2. Me? Never As a subby climber those two saws tick pretty much all the boxes. I'm employed and still usually use my own saws through choice, as I know they'll be running and cutting well. My mid range climbing saw is a 441 on 20" I also have a 357 on 15" for ground work/small felling.
  3. So for shedding or a chipper saw which one do you use?
  4. My mistake, no single rotor heli could cope with that climbers bollocks.
  5. I reckon with a winch, mewp, crane, heli, and a rescue climber it's doable..,
  6. Are we all looking at the same tree here? Bunch of padding logs, pull line, fell it! If they don't want to pay for it, let it fall on its own!
  7. I guess that'll be someone else's saw cutting those lumps up then!
  8. Perhaps the owner is worried about damage to his garden and wants to be assured that you're one of the good guys. It's his property so he can make you jump through his hoops before granting you access.
  9. What? You don't like conifer!
  10. That was an expensive shag, the one resulting in twins. Mind you, he doesn't complain about the price of hookers any more
  11. Some of the best climbers I've met haven't done CS40/41
  12. That'd be about 350-400 for us. Plus vat though.
  13. Amateur.
  14. And to think... If you hadn't spent so much time faffing about with grinders, how well you could be doing with World of Warcraft.
  15. There's no substitute for a big saw on a small bar in that situation! What dia were the limbs Steve? My ported 357 doesn't get much climb time. Only the rare big free fall dismantle like that! Be honest, did you use spikes?
  16. I wonder how the guys who's bridges failed lived to post the photos? To be honest for how long a bridge should last it's not worth skimping
  17. Exactly, why risk a £700 machine for s fivers worth of fuel?
  18. Crikey Andrew you shouldn't have a problem shifting that! Does it have a buyer?
  19. Quinine tablets? Just drink G&T ya big fairy!
  20. Smart water costs as much as petrol. Dioralyte for the really hot days like today, water for the remainder of the year. Dioralyte is also great when you've had a few beers and don't want too feel like Shane McGowan's toilet the morning after.
  21. In all seriousness 3 litres of pure water should be the minimum for anyone working in this heat. A sachet of dioralyte in the morning and afternoon is a good idea too. If you're seeing regularly it's a good sign. Sacking off the saw trousers today.
  22. I had a couple in the sun yesterday afternoon and I was asleep by eight!
  23. ...and he cannot lie? There's have to be two dozen threads on which logs are the best for towing in a Brain James trailer THANKS MATE.
  24. 5l of diet coke! You won't see 50!
