I was in the same boat lads. I've used the 150 for as long as it's been out. Recently bought the 2510 for myself. It's not had an easy start to life. The last 3 days have been spent on a huge lapsed willow pollard with 20+ years regrowth. Some serious tension and compression going on. The 2510 I own is running the same B&C as the 150 I use, so it's a level playing field. The Echo is smaller, lighter and more powerful. A lot more torque for cutting over car length (I've been cutting 16" willow over the last couple of days) and it revs quick and high for snedding out small branches. The only unknown for me is durability, which only time will tell, but it feels very solid. I prefer the build quality over the echo. I was cynical at first but I made the good choice. IMO there isn't one good reason to buy the Stihl, though I'm open to suggestions.

It's Velcro you numpty, you don't need a saw to open it! I know what you're saying. I first thought you were on about wife beater type vests. I don't wear Velcro hi vis when using any machinery, after seeing one get pulled into the drive shaft on a set of long reach. As I said, Stein X25 are tough, comfy and cheap. No brainier really.

Gotcha. I won't wear hi vis vests on account of that. The Stein shirts are grand. For 15 quid they're great value. If you were bashing wife beaters we'd have had a problem mate

Easy bud! I know he knows what he's on about! I only ever get so read so far though before my head hurts. It's easier for me to just accept that TCD knows his subject, and buy RL so I can feel good about my saws

Why is it hard to accept that some people simply aren't going to like SRT? I mean it makes sense to me for certain jobs, but if you can get a job done ddrt and are happy with it then fair enough! -
No worries, it's hardly a problem. I don't use much of it as it's only for my saws. The work ones run on stihl green oil. When I run out I'll get in contact.

I'm the same mate. This echo is (IMO) the one saw in their line up that really stands out. Apart from the beard stroking. My chin looks like a 14 year olds ball sack.

Gotta agree mate. When you first compared it to a full fat topper I wrote your opinion off as that of another Echo fanboy. I was properly skeptical. I was wrong. Apologies.
